🟣 If you are a small business owner one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to create brand awareness is through social media.
Don't have the budget to hire a social media manager? That's OK. Here is a (very) simplified look at how to build your online presence 👇
1. Determine who your target audience is, and identify the top two social media platforms they use most. Create profiles for your company on these two platforms.
2. Make editable templates branded for your company, or hire someone to help. Canva works great for those who are not design-savvy. Make sure designs follow your company’s colors and font guidelines.
3. Create content that will appeal to your target audience. Aim for a mix of 80% value-add or informational content, and 20% focused on promoting your brand.
4. Schedule or post the content on the two platforms you identified in step 1. You don't have to post every day.
5. Engage, engage, engage! Respond to any questions or comments your posts may generate. Follow relevant, potential clients back and engage with their content. If you have the time, consider sending a personalized message to new followers introducing yourself and your company.
⭐ For extra credit:
- Identify hashtags, events, and trending topics that interest your target audience. Join these conversations with meaningful content.
- Maximize reach by posting content consistently, and at a time your target audience is most likely to be online and engaged.
- Locate online groups within your business’ niche. Engage on these message boards by asking/answering questions, supporting others, and again…posting meaningful content.
- Post in-depth blogs or articles to create credibility.
