Whiskey Row just got a whole new rhythm 🎹

Whiskey & Ivory is officially open in downtown Prescott, bringing dueling pianos, high-energy entertainment, great drinks, and a completely new vibe to Whiskey Row.

This isn’t just a bar… it’s an experience.

Huge congratulations to Matt & Marco on what’s about to become one of Prescott’s newest hot spots.

Something tells me this place is going to be playing to a full house every weekend.

Child care isn’t just a family issue. It’s a workforce issue.

I attended a conversation this week on Child Care and Economic Growth in Yavapai County, and it hit both personally and professionally.

This isn’t theoretical for me.

When I was pregnant, I knew I wanted to return to work after maternity leave.
I love what I do. My career is part of my purpose.

But I also knew finding infant care in our area would be a challenge.

So as soon as I found out I was pregnant… I started calling daycares.

The first question I was asked?

“What’s their name for the waitlist?”

My answer:
“I don’t even know the gender yet… I’m still growing eyeballs at this point. But I’d like those eyeballs on your waitlist.”

I followed up with in-person visits.
Yes… pregnant, still in heels, walking into facilities asking for a spot.

Because the reality was simple:

If I couldn’t find childcare…
I didn’t know how I was going to go back to work.

I was lucky.

Those “eyeballs” made it into one of just 63 available infant spots in the COUNTY.
63.

That number alone tells you everything you need to know.

And today’s event reinforced just how big this issue really is.

• Arizona is projected to lose $1.77 billion annually due to lack of child care
• $348 million in lost tax revenue
• 34% of parents have left a job because of child care challenges

This isn’t just about early parenthood.

Child care is something families are constantly solving for:

After school.
School breaks.
Summer.

Year after year.

And for businesses?

This directly impacts your workforce.

We talk about hiring challenges.
Retention.
Workforce shortages.

But how often are we talking about the root cause?

Because for many parents, it’s not about willingness to work.

It’s about whether they can.

Today’s conversation challenged us to shift the lens:

Child care isn’t just a social issue.
It’s infrastructure for a functioning economy.

If we want strong businesses, a reliable workforce, and sustainable growth…

This has to be part of the conversation.

And more importantly, part of the solution.
Thank you to today’s panelists for the conversation:

👉 Molly Findlay Peterson
👉 Megan Smith
👉 Shawn Soumilas, MHI
👉 Zach Yentzer

These are the conversations that move communities forward.

How is child care impacting your company, team, your hiring, or your ability to grow?

I’ve been getting this question a lot lately:

“How do I market my event outside of Prescott?”

Here is my recomendation based on working with events on their marketing:

It’s not one post.
It’s not one ad.

It’s a sequence.

Start with video.

Show the experience.
The energy.
The reason it’s worth the drive.

Then…

Layer in retargeting and geofencing.

Stay in front of the people who showed interest.
Bring them back.
Remind them again.

This is where the shift happens:

• More website visits
• More familiarity
• Higher conversions to attend

Timing matters.

Start the slow drip 6–8 weeks out.

Build awareness early…
so when the event gets closer, the decision is easy.

Then on event day?

Set up a conversion zone around your event.

So you can actually track how many people saw your ads… and showed up.

Marketing shouldn’t just feel good.

It should be measurable. Website visits, online ticket sales (or event registrations), and in person visits.

How far in advance are you promoting your events right now? Do you need help marketing outside of Prescott?

I may not be a full-time travel influencer… but I do play one in my daydreams.

Let’s talk about side hustles… or maybe more accurately… side passions.

Travel is mine.

I can get completely lost daydreaming about it.
The ocean. The waves. A beach somewhere warm.
(And just like that… I’m mentally on vacation again.)

But in real life?

I work full-time.
I have a family.
We’re busy.
And have you seen the price of groceries lately?!

So no… we’re not the “pack up and go to Europe for a month” family you see on Instagram.

But we do travel.

I just plan first…
and then hustle to make it all come together😅

That’s when I found the world of traveling with points.

Not here to sell it.
Just here to say… this is how I make it work.

And this week?

Happy dance moment 💃

After 6 months of planning, juggling, and being very intentional…

I earned my Southwest Companion Pass.

(Again 🙌)

If you’re not familiar, it’s basically a BOGO flight deal.
Your companion flies with you… and you only pay the taxes.

As in… $5.60.

So for the past two years… and now the next year and a half…

My husband’s flights = $5.60 ✈️

And it’s taken us to:

New Orleans
Isla Mujeres
Costa Rica
Maine

…and next up… Hawaii 🌴

But here’s the real win this time:

We didn’t just earn one Companion Pass.

We earned two.

Which means…

Our family of four can now travel to any Southwest destination…

…and only pay taxes.

Yes. I double-checked that math too.

So while I may not be living full-time on a beach somewhere…

I am finding a way to bring those moments into our life.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about travel.

It’s about creating experiences with the people I love most.

Have you ever earned the Southwest Companion Pass?
Where did it take you?

Or… where would you go if flights were basically $5.60? 👀✈️

Are you ignoring TikTok… or avoiding it?

A lot of businesses write off TikTok fast:

“My customers aren’t on there.”
“We don’t have time for that.”
“That’s for younger audiences.”

But here’s what’s actually happening:

Businesses are using TikTok to get discovered, build trust, and turn simple videos into ads that perform.

Not polished. Not perfect.

Just real.

Think less “produced commercial”
More “real person who actually believes in what they do”

That’s what people connect with.
And that’s what converts.

TikTok isn’t replacing your marketing.

But it might be the piece you’re missing.

Have you discovered a business on TikTok lately?

If this works out… I’m going to the Olympics.

Why not?

This felt like a very “future me will figure it out” kind of decision.

I entered the draw for tickets to the 2028 LA Olympics last week.

Because honestly… Los Angeles is only about a 6.5–7 hour drive from Prescott.
And for something like the Olympics? That feels completely reasonable.

Also… being there in person?
That feels like one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

So… why not?

Worst case, I don’t get tickets.

Best case, we’re planning an Olympic road trip in a few years.

And either way, sometimes the fun starts the second you decide to go for it.

Now I’m curious…

What’s your favorite Olympic sport to watch?

And if you had the chance to go… would you?

Let me know. And if this actually works out, I’ll keep you posted on the adventure.

Have you ever noticed how some businesses seem to show up everywhere?

You see them on social media.

Then again on YouTube.

Then again while watching streaming TV.

And maybe you passed their truck on the way to work.

It can feel like they’re everywhere.

But it’s not luck.

It’s strategy.

Strong marketing campaigns often work across multiple platforms at the same time, creating something called frequency.

The more consistently someone sees your brand, the more familiar it becomes.

And familiarity builds trust.

The goal of good marketing isn’t just to appear once.

It’s to show up consistently enough that people remember you when they need what you offer.

Where do you most often notice the same ads showing up repeatedly?

Many businesses think their marketing problem is visibility.

But often the real problem is clarity.

One of the simplest ways to improve your marketing is this:

1. Make sure people immediately understand what you do.

2. If your message is unclear, even the best advertising won’t work well.

Before investing in more marketing, ask yourself these questions:

• Can someone explain what my business does in one sentence?
• Do my ads clearly show the problem I solve?
• Would someone remember my business tomorrow?

Clarity builds trust.

And trust is what turns attention into customers.

Opportunities rarely show up when you feel ready for them.

Most opportunities don’t arrive with perfect timing.

They show up when you’re busy.
When you’re unsure.
When you’re still figuring things out.

Leadership often means stepping forward before you feel completely prepared.

Raising your hand.
Trying something new.
Taking a chance on yourself.

Growth rarely happens inside your comfort zone.

And looking back, the moments that shape us the most are usually the ones that required a little courage.

Ever notice how every marketing expert seems to recommend something different?

SEO is the answer.

No, social media is the answer.

Actually, you need streaming TV.

Wait… maybe Google Ads.

It’s no wonder business owners feel overwhelmed.

The truth is, none of those things are automatically right or wrong.

Marketing advice often sounds different because strategy should change based on the situation.

Things that matter:

• Your industry
• Your audience
• Your growth stage
• Your budget
• Your goals

The right marketing plan isn’t built around a single platform.

It’s built around what will actually move the business forward.

Which leads to the better question:

Not “What platform should I use?”

But
“What strategy actually fits my business?”

What’s the most conflicting marketing advice you’ve heard?
