Micromanagement: A Hidden Threat to Growth
From a distance, micromanaging may seem like a way to ensure quality and control, however, in reality, it can cripple both individual employees and the company as a whole.
When employees are constantly second-guessed or overly monitored, it can slow down decision-making, create false urgencies, foster anxiety, damage trust, cause burnout, create a toxic environment, lead to resignations, add unnecessary work, destroy creativity, and kill innovation. Over time, this lack of trust leads to disengagement and reduced productivity.
From a company-wide perspective, micromanagement stifles progress and growth. True leadership means empowering your team to take ownership, make decisions, and grow. Trust your employees, give them the freedom to thrive, and watch your company flourish as a result.
