Best Italian food on Florida’s west coast? Carmelos Italian & Ortigia Cucina and Bar could be. The menu is great but the special’s are where you find the gold. Pictured here is Local caught redfish, blackened and topped with a roasted pepper honey butter sauce with a side of broccolini and orzo. Below is Fusillli Viviana named after the owners daughter. This dish is made of Fusilli, sausage (made in house), sweet cherry tomato’s, spinach, white wine and a roasted pepper cream sauce. A simply amazing meal. Then why night finish you meal with a cappuccino and tiramisu. This is legit Italian in Florida!

Had to try the New Haven style pizza from Furci’s Fine Foods & Pizzeria. We were not the only ones with this thought as the line extended out the door on a Friday night. Opening the box the pie looked exactly as advertised. The cheese had spots of char as did the outer crust. Picking up the first slice it did require a bit of help / fold to not flop. We blame this on the trip home as it’s almost impossible to maintain a serious crisp on hot pizza inside a box for the 12 minute drive once we picked it up. First bite, we liked the amount of cheese and sauce. The undercarriage had some leapard spotting but we would have preferred another minute in the oven for a bit more char on the bottom. We are different from the typical long island customer so no criticism there. Our rating, we would definitely come back, though I’d avoid peak Friday rush and eat it there so we can really appreciate the intended crisp and rate it fresh. Long Island folks who like a pizza cooked as it should, definitely worth a trip!

Still thinking about this meal.

We finally made it to MITR THAI มิตรไทย in the theatre district, and every dish brought something different to the table. From refreshing drinks to flavorful noodles, and perfectly cooked seafood, this was one of those dinners where everyone kept saying, “You have to try this.”

If you’re looking for authentic Thai food in New York City, this spot is definitely worth adding to your list. This is a two floor restaurant in the heart of NYC. Friendly atmosphere. Our waiter was great and extremely helpful in describing unfamiliar dishes on the menu! Wish i got his name.

Our favorite? You’ll have to watch the reel to see which dish we’d order again.

Have you been to Mitr Thai? Or is there another Thai restaurant in NYC we should try next?

This pesto can be thrown together when you boil the water for the bucatini. It’s that quick and easy. Soto make it, use plenty of basil, olive oil, some ricotta, water, salt and pepper. The ricotta reduces the heaviness and calories of the dish. To process, Use a food processor or bowl with an emulsion blender. Adjust the liquid to get the right consistency. Want more detail? Go to our blog thefiftiesfightclub.com and search pesto. For the blackened shrimp, use your favorite blackening seasoning…. We like chef Prudhomme. Pro tip…. Use a bronze cut bucatini so that pesto sticks to your pasta!! Pro tip 2 add some@lemon zest…. It’s good. Try it…. Enjoy it and please@let us know if you like it.

Asian Jewel from Flushing served at the Taste of Queens booth at Citi field. We had the Shredded chicken with garlic sauce over noodles and mushrooms and this was the best of our food adventure. The loaded cornbread was good but thought it could have had more oork on top. The nachos grande was fire with chicken black beans guacamole and jalapenos. Unfortunately our photos of those were terrible. Also unfortunately the food experience was much better than the effort by the Mets… .
