Today felt full circle.

This morning I walked into Grace Episcopal Church here in Providence, RI for a proposal presentation — and it brought back a wave of memories.

From 2001–2012, this was actually my very first office space. It’s where Ninedot began. Nearly 25 years later, I find myself back here, not just pitching work, but reflecting on the journey.

Funny enough, we were the ones who originally designed Grace Church’s logo, identity, interior signage, and current website. To be invited back to present our proposal to redesign their website now is nothing short of an honor.

One of the RFP questions was “What is your experience?”

My answer?
👉 25 years of creating.
👉 25 years of commitment.
👉 25 years of leaving our mark on Providence.

There are plenty of agencies out there. But very few can say they’ve been at it this long, stayed this dedicated, and built a legacy in the city they started in.

You see, in this business it’s not just about crafting quality work — it’s about relationships and character. That matters more than anything else.

It’s been a wild ride, but one I wouldn’t trade for anything.

As a business owner, you put it all on the line—every day—for your team, your clients, your community… and most of the time, no one sees the sacrifice. The weight we carry is heavy—but so is the reward.

This trip
isn’t really about me (though I’m not complaining about this margarita). It’s about watching something I helped build—a family. My wife, my rock. Our three amazing kids, all growing up way too fast. Seeing the joy on their faces, the laughter, the memories being made… this is why I work my ass off.

I don’t take a single second of it for granted.
This is vacation. This is everything.

Pantone Color of the Year for 2025 is… drumroll… Mocca Mousse! 🟤👀

Simple and comforting? A soft, warming brown? Sure, if you’re comforted by something that looks like it came out of your dog’s backyard “adventure.”

Pantone calls it “sophisticated, earthy elegance” and “a versatile foundation,” but let’s not kid ourselves—this is straight-up mud pie chic. A feeling of contentment, they say? Yeah, content with avoiding this color entirely IMO. 🤣

Warm, grounding, and oozing “don’t touch that!” energy, here’s to a 2025 that’s all about embracing life’s messiest moments… in style. 😂

My first was awesome🙌

I just ❤️ seeing our client partners like thrive and watching my podcast guests work the floor successfully to grow their businesses.

But it’s all the new friends and connections that I made that make the ‘Zoo’ the best 👏

My highlight without a doubt was the opportunity to meet the one and only and seeing her amazing brand and her commitment through the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation, a non-profit focused on ending animal cruelty and abuse across the world.🥰❤️

I can’t wait to see how all of our new connections can work better together to grow.

So tonight I pulled out the dusty CD’s from my prime eclectic highschool and college days, ‘90’s baby 👏🙌, and ‘forced’ the house to jam it out with me…. Dude, c’mon from The nerve pipe, Rusted root, Collective soul, Star 69, even Woody Herman, Tina turner(saw her in concert with Joseph Bevington), Beck!!, and admittedly Dave Matthew’s Band I had it going on 🤘

My 1st ever CD was Ozzi Osbourne and 1st concert the Foo Fighters 👏

I might ❤️ me some country but at the core I love a solid Eagle Eye Cherry👀🙌

🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ Today kicked off the college tour adventures with my eldest at none other than the 🏫

First off, let me tell you, college tours are exhausting! And secondly, it’s surreal to think we have a child getting ready to head to college.

But here’s the funny part…..while we were on the tour, I spotted some graphics and branding for the dining hall that Ninedot created circa 2010! Talk about a blast from the past. 😅 Naturally, I asked my daughter what she thought of them.

Without missing a beat, she said, “They’re boring, Dad.”😂😂👏 Ah, kids. Always keeping us humble.

24 years ago, fresh out of art school, I made the leap from freelancing to founding my own creative agency—Mark Richard Studios. Back then, we were all about print and branding; digital wasn’t even on the radar yet. (Yes, I’m showing my age here 😂)

By 2007, with a few consultants onboard and a portfolio shifting towards digital, I rebranded the agency to Ninedot after completing my graduate studies in Advertising at Syracuse University

Fast forward to today, and we’ve evolved into a full-service digital agency, leveraging the latest tech and AI to help our clients’ websites thrive. Yet, our creative roots remain at the heart of everything we do because design is integral to every engagement. ✍️

21 years ago I chartered the Argia Mystic Cruises to propose to my love and thankfully, she said yes 🥰

To celebrate our 20th anniversary I chartered the schooner again to celebrate us and the amazing life God has blessed us with.

Marriage is never easy but Gods plans for us have been awesome.
