Sometimes it doesn't go the way you planning.
Little details of what is going on here.
This beautiful house was built somewhere in between 1995 and 2000s but when the builder deciding to go a little cheaper, it cost homeowners a lot of money.
On this particular house moisture barrier or all known TYVAC was missing and the vent in the middle of the dormer installed incorrectly.
And what happened next.
Rain water or as we all know in our beautiful Oregon state in one year we have about 5 to 6 raining months.
What do you think going to happen to your house in 20 years being exposed to the rain
The water goes behind the vent and...
Your house corner boards started to rot
Your siding becomes soft and fragile
Paint on the house siding starting to bubble and peel
Your plywood starting to rot
Mold starting to grow
And all that goes inside of your house and you breathe with it all those years
And here's my advice to you as a homeowner!
Make sure you hired a right painting contractor, who knows not only about the painting, but about construction in general.
When your contractor sees the issues and fix them not just with the fresh coat of paint, but:
- Know how to determine the problem
- See the issue and deliver the information to you
- Making sure, that you understand farther steps that need to be taken and explain the situation of what is going to happen if the problem fixed only cosmetically
- Know how to fix the problem
- And last but not least, know how to do a quality work.
