Approximately 12.3% of American citizens qualified for free food through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in fiscal year 2024, which served an average of 41.7 million people.

Food-insecure households include those with low food security and very low food security. 13.5 percent (18.0 million) of U.S. households were food insecure at some time during 2023. The 2023 prevalence of food insecurity was statistically significantly higher than the 12.8 percent (17.0 million) in 2022.

Approximately 28% of SNAP recipients work full-time, though figures can vary depending on the data source and time period.

Some analyses found that around 70% of adult SNAP recipients worked full-time hours in a given month, but this refers to adults in the programs overall, not just the total number of recipients. Many of these workers rely on SNAP to supplement their low wages.

Overall work patterns: About 28% of SNAP recipients are full-time workers, while another 16% work part-time.

Low wages: Many full-time workers still struggle to make ends meet due to low wages, variable schedules, and limited benefits, making them eligible for SNAP.

Program reliance: Some individuals and families rely on SNAP to supplement their income because their wages are not high enough to cover basic needs.

Have you been wondering how the GOP has been successfully at opposing fair voting? It happens every time Democrats don't vote and apathy gets the best of the rest of us.

We are flooded with so much far right propaganda that it is easy to just want to escape the noise by not participating in the political process.

That won't work. It's not that simple. When you go there, you get January 6th and more propaganda about how self righteous you are for demanding fairness.

The GOP doesn't represent the majority of Americans. Gerrymandering is the effort to make them look like the majority by redrawing the voting district maps.

It's gotten so difficult to do, that they can't wait for the every ten year census to sit down with Democrats and look at the facts together. They want to use the courts to make changes whenever strong Democratic leadership is elected.

That's targeting. It's illegal. It's not the same as asking the courts to address targeting and be fair in reversing GOP discrimination.

If you want your vote to count, you must understand what's happening and why. Read it hear.

The hit to the Democrats wouldn't be nearly as hard as that the Republicans would suffer. The DEMS could revert to the tried and proven true, sharing what they have with their neighbors.

That won't be as easy for the GOP. They gave a lot of their rainy day funds to tRump's MAGA con game and rural distance makes the strangers to each other.

Casting the Government Shutdown as a Democrat inspired political strategy is disingenuous.

If the DEMS holdout for reinstatement of the tried and true, the Republicans risk seriously hurting the core of the constituencies.

If the DEMS give in, they most certainly face purge by a vindictive Republican Administration.

Hold out is the only path.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which helps feed more than 40 million people, will start to run out of funds Nov. 1.
