Folks, it's really not that complicated.

Don't listen to all of these "sales hacks" because 99% of them are short-sighted.

They may help you close the sale now, but they aren't the most effective for building long-term relationships, referral networks, or even repeat customers.

There's much more money in treating everyone fairly and with respect rather than trying your hardest to close every single deal at all costs.

I was on a cruise this weekend and saw this quote on a t-shirt. It’s one I’ve always liked.

The problem is that salespeople and business owners use this as reasoning for not having a plan. The problem isn’t that you’re going to get hit—though a hit from Iron Mike would certainly ruin your day—it’s that without a plan, training, and experience, that hit will stop you cold.

Have a plan. Your prospects get a vote, but your ability to stay in control of the sales conversation is what will win in the end.

“I know they’ve fired every other consultant and agency before me, but I’m different.”
All excuses I’ve used to stick it out WAY too long.
I’m all about kindness and understanding, but advice is correct—“things that start bad, end badly.”

It’s not that they are bad people, it’s just that it’s a bad situation for you.

Identify the scenario quickly and take decisive action to move on.

You’ll be much happier in the long-term, no matter how scary it seems in the near-term.

Keeping up high quality and high volume is tough to do in the long-term. I propose the formula has to do more with sustainability than it has to do with quantity.

As entrepreneurs, you may struggle to stay consistent with your prospecting efforts. Why? Because you want to deliver quality but don’t have time to keep up the quantity.

The multiplier here is your sustainability. Keep up the quality and adjust the quantity to levels you can sustain. This is a formula for long-term success.
