Illustrating Raise Your Voice for Courtney by Kimberly Daley was about more than drawing characters, it was about capturing who they really were.

Many were inspired by real family members, so every sketch needed personality and care. I used a more minimalist, spot-illustration style to let small emotional moments lead the story.

This book follows a young girl learning to be heard, and it was rewarding to help bring that journey to life visually.

Bringing the author’s ideas to life through expressive illustrations and playful details made the process especially rewarding.
