🔍 What's the secret to ramping up production?
Surprisingly, it's rest. 😴
You might think that to increase production, you need to work harder. 💪
But working harder doesn't always mean more productivity. 🚫
Sure, in the short run, you might boost your workload to up production.
But let's face it, that's not sustainable. 🏃♂️💨
Our bodies aren't designed for non-stop work, seven days a week, 365 days a year. 📆
We need rest to recharge. 🛌
So, how can you integrate rest into your work schedule effectively? 🤔
(1) Planned Days Off 📅
Allocate specific days each week for rest.
Most of us take the weekend, but if that doesn't work for you, pick any day that suits you.
Just make sure it's set in stone as your rest day. 🌴
(2) Communicate Your Schedule 🗣️
Inform your clients about your days off and your working hours.
Setting boundaries isn't just okay; it's essential.
And if someone can't respect your boundaries, it's a big red flag. 🚩
(3) Be Realistic 🧐
Set realistic goals for what you can achieve in a given time.
Take my case, for example.
My profile says I can develop a Webflow website in six weeks or less.
It sounds ambitious, right? 🏗️
But, I know my limits.
A simple 3-5 page site? Sure, that's doable in 3-4 weeks with quick feedback.
More complex sites? That needs a clear, honest conversation with clients about realistic timelines. ⏳
Remember:
Overpromising leads to failure. ❌
You risk burnout at the end of a rushed project. 🔥
No time for marketing means no new clients lined up. 📉
(4) Limit the Number of Clients You Book at One Time 🚦
A great strategy to avoid burnout is to limit your client intake.
For instance, I book only four clients a month.
It sounds like a lot, but considering project delays and feedback loops, I'm often actively working on 2-3 projects at any given time.
This limit ensures I get the rest I need to stay productive. 💡
