Due to my concern whether I am in the will of God, I did some research. Following is the result of my research.
Hope this will help someone, as it has helped me.
“Knowing you are in God’s will involves walking closely with Him, obeying Scripture, and experiencing inner peace, even during trials. It is confirmed through alignment with biblical principles, the guidance of the Holy Spirit, wise counsel, and open doors. Key signs include a desire to please God over people, using your spiritual gifts, and a growing,, unhindered relationship with Him.
Here are the primary ways to know you are in God's will:
* Alignment with Scripture: God's will is revealed in the Bible, which acts as a guide for living. If a decision contradicts the Bible, it is not God's will.
* Inner Peace: A profound sense of calm, trust, and stability (even in difficult circumstances) indicates peace of mind, which is a key sign of being in His will.
* The Fruit of the Spirit: Experiencing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in your current situation.
* Wise Counsel: Seeking advice from mature, godly, or spiritual mentors who can confirm God’s direction and highlight potential pitfalls.
* Open Doors/Providence:Circumstances often align to open doors, though not all open doors are from God; they must be tested against Scripture.
* Surrender and Desire: When you desire to please God more than yourself, He often aligns your heart's desires with His own.
Signs of Being Outside God's Will:
* Disobedience to clear biblical commands.
* A lack of peace or persistent chaos.
* An attempt to conform to worldly patterns (culture,, media, etc.) rather than being transformed.
Ultimately, if you are walking with God, obeying His word, and relying on His Spirit, you can have confidence that you are in His will, as He is capable of directing you.“
