Tom started as our Building & Yard Supervisor then moved to Mechanic. After 10+ years as our mechanic, he moved into our Install Dept where he became a Journeyman Installer. Upon the retirement of our Install Supervisor, Tom was promoted to Install Supervisor and now hold the title of Operations Manager for the Reno Office. He's responsible for our production, install, safety and fleet management.

The owner of Manila Hong Kong Store and Kitchen, Ron Leron, is a long-time YESCO customer. When he decided to move his business to a newer and larger building, he looked to us to provide him with a modern sign. After a couple of revisions to comply with the property management, we came up with this simple but very effective design as well as monument graphics just in time for the grand opening later this month.

We originally received a call from a representative of Walker Burger’s in Coleville, California for repair of a wind damaged face. We ended up not only replacing the damaged face, but both faces on the pole sign and completed an LED lighting retrofit to the cabinet. The neon OPEN letters had also failed and due to the 100+ mile distance from our shop in Reno, the customer chose to replace the neon OPEN letters with an outdoor grade LED OPEN sign.

A 60-month extended labor warranty was also included in the project.

YESCO, the 101-year-old company known for creating, repairing and maintaining internationally recognizable signs, received a proclamation from the City of Sparks, Nevada in honor of its rich history and contributions to the Sparks landscape at the March 8, 2021 city council meeting. Mayor Ed Lawson proclaimed March 21, 2021 as YESCO 101 Years Of Light Day.

Lawson read the proclamation at the virtual meeting, where he stated he joins the community in celebrating an outstanding business with roots in Sparks that has illuminated the identity of so many companies and organizations for the past 101 years. YESCO founder Thomas Young, Sr.’s father, George Young, lived in Sparks and worked for the Southern Pacific Roundhouse. His $300 loan to his son enabled Thomas Young, Sr. to start YESCO in 1920. The first YESCO office in Sparks opened in 1964 on Glendale Road. YESCO’s landmark Sparks signs includes John Ascuaga’s Nugget, Alamo Casino, Rail City Casino, Baldini’s Casino, The Sparks Galleria, Sparks Marina and Sparks Crossing.

“We’re honored to be recognized by Mayor Lawson and the City of Sparks today with this fine proclamation,” said Thomas Young, Jr. “We’ve been doing business in the Reno/Sparks area for 57 years, and we are so grateful to the community for their hospitality and friendship.”

With high school sports cautiously returning under Nevada state’s COVID 19 reopening plan, Carson High School was in need of some service to their field lighting. YESCO was on deck to deck the job done!

Carson High School is one of the top-ranked schools in Nevada.

YESCO techs worked alongside representatives from the Flag Store to install a 35’ flagpole at Mountain View Animal Hospital in Reno, Nevada.

The goal at Pamlico Air is to provide clean air and better health through air filtration products and services. One of their manufacturing plants is strategically located in Reno, Nevada.

YESCO supplied both interior and exterior signage to the facility The identification package included displays for the lobby, letters on a metal door, exterior signs for the planter areas, vinyl logos and copy applied to the warehouse door, and the main building identification.

“We Create Beautiful Smiles,” is the motto of Desert Valley Dental. YESCO’s creed is, “We create beautiful and impactful signs.” Our talented craftspeople manufactured and installed a set of illuminated letters and logo for the office in Reno, Nevada.

The historic El Dorado Motel was built in 1949 located on Virginia Street just south of downtown in Reno, Nevada. As time went on the motel changed multiple owners and was on its way to being forgotten.

In late 2019 Kramer Properties revitalized the property but left the sign in place. Today, the El Dorado Motel is accepting guests and features a neon-lit patio and a really cool sign.

Nice looking channel letters identify Sierra Mattress. The company is known as “your local mattress store” in Reno. They were voted best of Reno in 2018 by readers of the Reno Gazette Journal.
