We've all been guilty of doing this...

But each step we take brings us a bit closer to our end goal.

What choices will you make today?

You may have a vision for your business.

A concrete goal.

But as and say, you can intend all you want and nothing will happen without action, the HOW.

There are lots of ways to do this - and you probably already know about them!

$$ for coaches, mentoring, advertising, assistants, designers, etc...

Why are so many of us afraid to "spend money" on these things that would buy us time to focus on growing our business?

Why do so many of us tell ourselves "We don't have money for that right now"?

You can only get so far by sparing every penny and trying to DIY it all. But at some point, are you your own worst enemy?

Do you really want to be the one putting together marketing campaigns and advertising strategies, or responding to emails, doing billing/invoicing...

Or do you want to spend that time using your genius to develop your next product or offering?

How much are those things worth?

What will it take to get you to a ?

Taking action is an investment in your business's long-term success.

Rather than viewing added costs as "expenses", how can investment in a service bring added value to your business, and increase your ROI?

Whether that's time or money, every action you take brings you one step closer to achieving the results you need.

What about your plan for advertising and building your clientele? Free services (e.g. social media) can only get you so far.

At some point, you must put in $$ to get $$ back. What actions and investments are you willing to take?

This is Violet, our Belgian Malinois. A year ago, I was ready to return her to the rescue we adopted her from and be rid of her forever.

We had been told she got along with other dogs, people, and children just fine.

But when she came home with us, we found she had extreme people and dog reactivity (she’d try to bite and go berserk if any dog or person approached us). After 2 months, I had reached my limit.

Tears running down my face, I was unable to focus on anything except how much I hated my dog (and feeling even worse for thinking it…)

So much for "man's best friend."

I texted the foster that day and said: "I don't know if we can keep her anymore." I was going to drive her back that weekend and return her.

But when we adopted her, I had promised to give it a full 3 months to ensure I had given her a fair chance, and, well, it’d only been 2 months.

So, we invested in dog training. >$2k worth. An unexpected expense we hadn't budgeted for.

But I had made that promise. If I didn’t try, was I being fair? She started once-weekly training at a center specializing in dog behavioral issues.

She began making progress! But after 3-4 months, she still could not be considered even remotely safe in public.

Desperate and frustrated, we sought out more intensive training. We enrolled her in a 6-week board and train – several thousands more of (unbudgeted) $$$.

Here’s the thing: she came back a brand new dog. Unrecognizable. We could not be more shocked at how her behavior had transformed.

Now, she can go to the park! Take treats from strangers! Visit people’s homes! Tolerate (and enjoy) visitors!

She would not be here with us today if we hadn’t invested thousands of dollars to ensure the safety of her, ourselves, and those around us.

The point? Invest in yourself. Invest in your business. Even if it’s uncomfortable or scary. Have you truly realized your full potential if you haven’t maximized the time and resources available to you?

Would you be able to live with the regret of giving up early, knowing that you could’ve put in just a BIT more time and money to yield the returns you know you are worth and deserve?

Hearing this is so frustrating! 😖

Most people are not afraid to invest if they KNOW THEY WILL GET A RETURN.

Sounds like you're being a smart entrepreneur right?

🚫 WRONG.

That's like saying, "I'd get married if I KNOW there will be no divorce, sickness, or death."

😐 Good luck with that.

Of COURSE you know there are no guarantees in life, yet ironically so many people think this is a valid approach and mindset to advertising....

"I'll invest so long as I know there will be an ROI."

That's like saying, "I'll buy a lotto ticket if I know I’ll win."

Of course it's not entirely their fault.

Many well-meaning entrepreneurs have been led to believe that in order to invest in advertising, we've got to know there's going to be a clear ROI (return on investment). SO MANY people flaunt how they make $10 for every $1 they invest in ads, so it's no surprise that we have these totally unrealistic expectations about what's "normal" online.

✨ Here’s the thing: A guaranteed ROI doesn't exist.

This is never possible.
