We actually have two 'puppy stores' here in Reno. Puppies who are for sale in stores are not bred for quality, but quantity and are almost certainly from a puppy mill. :( Please remember if you decide to bring a purebred dog into your life, buy only from responsible breeders. This means the mother and her health records are available and if the male isn't on the premises his pedigree and health records should also be available. The puppy should have been examined by a vet for overall health at least once if not more. There is nothing wrong with owning a purebred animal, but puppy stores are not the responsible way of buying one.

Pet stores exude an inviting environment designed to show you healthy and happy for-sale pets. But would you still pay good money for the same puppies if you saw that the breeder kept them in cramped, filthy cages their whole lives?

These little brothers were adopted by my sister from the Nevada Humane Society. Despite having their ears purposely cut and mangled you would never suspect these guys were abused. So pleased they get a happy ending.

Nevada Humane Society is having a garage sale October 5 & 6 to help offset the cost of food and care for the wonderful animals in their care. If you have something to donate drop it off this week and don't forget to come out on the weekend and shop!

Here she is! The beautiful Nandy. At about a year old and in perfect health this little lover is waiting to smother her new owner with hair and love for a very long time. From the moment I picked her up for her photoshoot, she nonstop purred. Don't let her less than primped hair and almost Grumpy Cat eyes fool you, there is no sweeter girl at the Nevada Humane Society. Stop by and visit her today. :)
