Come unto Jesus, The Lord of all. Give up your pride, And heed His call. Come unto Jesus, The living water, Drink from the well, Your thirst no bother. Come unto Jesus, The bread of life. The hidden manna abundant and rife. In times of sorrow, He is a beacon of light, Guiding your footsteps, Through the darkest night. Come unto Jesus, He is the way, When burdens are heavy, And long is the day. Come unto Jesus, Where the truth is found. Trust and believe, For His way is sound. Come unto Jesus, Cling to and hold, No sin is too great, nor any heart too cold. The weight of the past, He will cast aside. In His mercy and grace, you will abide. Come unto Jesus, The great Redeemer. For His love is greater, Than all has been told.

Sin is disobedience to God's law and brings separation from God. That is why one sin leads to another, then another. Remorse is when our sin is discovered, or we fear it will be discovered, and we commit not to engage in that sin again. That is not the same as repentance. Repentance is recognizing that our sin hurts God and ourself, and out of love for God, we commit to forsaking that and other sins. True repentance comes from the inner self and transforms us so that we no longer desire to sin, but to follow God's admonitions. "For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds" Titus 2:11-14 NLT. "you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. But that is not the way you learned Christ ... as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness...and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you" Ephesians 4:17-32 ESV.

Today, January 19, is Robert E. Lee Day. Banks are closed, schools are out, and the mail does not run. What a great way to celebrate Robert E. Lee's birthday. After the War of Northern Aggression, Confederate soldiers were left without a government, a home, or a means of supporting themselves. Many were forced to flee their homes, as Union forces occupied the South and implemented policies aimed at Reconstruction. Thousands of Confederate soldiers were imprisoned. About 10,000 Southerners left the U.S. and went to Mexico or South America. Courageously, Robert E. Lee remained in Virginia, even though he faced imprisonment. He became the president of Washington College. When Lee took over, the college was in shambles, buildings were uninhabitable, and funds were scarce. Lee built the school into a learning center for agriculture, engineering, and journalism. It was financially stable and had several notable endowments. Upon Lee's death, he became one of the most admired and popular leaders in both the North and the South. The school was renamed Washington and Lee University. Now you know the rest of the story (borrowed this phrase).

Tulsi Gabbard claimed that Islamism, which she described as a political ideology, is “already happening” within the United States. Citing places such as Houston and Patterson, New Jersey, she alleged that efforts are underway to implement Islamic principles through legal and political systems. Gabbard argued that Islamism rejects individual liberty and is fundamentally incompatible with America’s foundation of God-given freedom.
