Lazur Graphics Janine Lazur's one woman show—freelance graphic design, art direction and illustration for ad agencies and small businesses Eg.

I have been freelancing for ad agencies for short term and long term assignments since 1997. I also do work from my home for small business clients. Back when I was an agency staffer, my highest title was Associate Creative Director. AGENCY WORK / PRIVATE CLIENTS
1) About 80% of my business is onsite freelance: Pitching in at ad agencies or in-house creative departments when they need extra help 2

) The other 20% of my business is work for private clients. Design services as well as basic marketing and brand consulting for businesses too small to need a full-blown ad agency. PRIMARY SKILLS ARE IN PRINT AND WEB: I can help with concept development, art direction and graphic design for print or online use. Logos, websites, print ads, brochures, direct mail, emails etc. Primary software: Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator

TV/VIDEO: Though I have worked at ad agencies on some on tv concepts, storyboards, and directed some video editing, it's not something I have a ton of experience in. COPY: Over the years, I've gotten pretty good at generating what I call "starter copy" as I'm working on layouts and have been told I'm good at offering copy suggestions to things already written. SOCIAL MEDIA: I have a natural interest in this and keep up on the industry so hope to help more of my small business clients get their pages rolling. PORTFOLIO: You won't find much online. Because I do so much work for ad agencies (and the end client is typically unaware the work was outsourced to a freelancer), I only share agency projects privately. Tell me a little about your needs and I'll pull relevant samples. I do have a few small business projects posted here on Facebook and also on Behance if you'd like a look before contacting me.

Fulfilling my 3 post requirement to make Instagram understand I’m legit—a few schoolhouse details from my home/office. It was a one room school from 1850-1910, then empty, then sold to become a residence in 1930.

I designed this logo way back in 1992 soon after college graduation. My college mentor was a potter and potters use something called a chop to mark their pieces. They’re more graphic than the kind of signature a painter uses. Another influence: My dad had a logo for his accounting business, Lazur and Associates, that used connected the L to the A like this—but with less panache. He was accountant after all. Although my last name is pronounced ‘Lazzer’, the pointy edges in this design likely reinforce the most common pronunciation: Laser

I like to know how to use the tools that I tell my small business clients to use so here’s my first post on an Instagram business account. Donna is one of my small business clients and also my dog walker. Goose joined us we for our outdoor, social distanced work session. We were getting her Facebook business account set up and talking about Instagram too. When she arrived, I told her Goose has been reluctant to be outside at all lately, which is strange for him. A few weeks ago, we had a terrible run in with a ground neat of yellow jackets in a neighbors yard. A big clump of them landed above his tail and stung his back repeatedly until I brushed them off with a stick. Benadryl and ice wasn’t enough to make him comfortable afterwards but a trip to the doggie ER helped. They gave him a steroid shot. Anyway, long story to get to today where I thought his fear of being outside was 🐝 paranoia. It sort of was. Donna noticed he startled any time a leaf 🍁 fell within his field of vision. And this is the time of year when they start to fall. So it was bee paranoia but triggered by falling leaves. Smart guy to be afraid of flying objects now. Donna helped reassure him and we’ll get his mojo back before major leaf falling starts.

At first I thought they just did this for their own ad. Nope! The whole magazine. Now I understand why they had trouble finding a publication willing to do it. Insane but great!! Bonus, I turned on wifi calling too, so the ad worked even via media attention.

Incredibly detailed media stunt promotes … better wifi?

No more having to 'like' things that are sad. FB just rolled out an expansion on the Like button feature to everyone. It will automatically show up on desktop. For mobile, you'll have to update your app.

For businesses, it'll be interesting to see if your fans adopt the new buttons and how FB Insights tracks them.

I just bought this Adobe Stock image for an Opportunity Barks Behavior & Training project and noticed a little schmutz in the pup's mouth. I zoomed in. The zoomed in view and 2 possibilities attached.
