Detour Collection for Branded Bills

It’s always insanely rewarding to see how Branded Bills takes my designs and brings them to life. For this set, they wanted to developed a collection based on the businesses you’d find along Route 66. Coming up with the designs is always fun, but any opportunity I get to flex my snarky copywriting skills is an opportunity I’ll take! I can’t wait for you guys to see the Winter Collection!

Boom! Full Can System for CRAFT COAST 🤘

This project went through many iterations before we finally locked in on these can designs (swipe to the 5th slide to see a bunch of the concepts). In the end we went with this character focused layout, which allows for a unique skeleton to represent the flavors and theme of each brew. We also pushed the limits of the brand a smidge with the thematic fonts on each can, taking the designs that extra step.

Inspired by Postcards. Designed for Off-road. Hella proud of this one for Can-Am Off-Road

My pitch for this concept was simple: within the letters of “CAN-AM” and interweave that with a surrounding scene, postcard style. The ex*****on was anything but simple haha. I often shoot myself in the foot with my ideas and then have to figure out how the hell to pull it off. It took a while, but this illustration is hands down my favorite piece I’ve ever done for Can-Am.

You’ll notice that between the sketch and the final design, a few things changed, mostly subtle, but the main request from Can-Am was to change to overhead desert canyon to more rugged mountains. This change added another “biome” to the design which I’m a huge fan of. So within the Word Arch we have “Farmland” and “Woodlands,” below we have the desert, and above we have Mountains. It was a wild concept but I’m wildly proud of the final product.

As always, everything here was designed with Pen, Paper and the Pencil tool in Illustrator; no Artificial Intelligence was used in this design 🤘

I’ve designed a LOT of patches over the years. A few have even made it on hats. But there’s something about this one for Hoyt Archery Inc. that just hits different!

Maybe it’s the woven arrow through the horseshoes. Or maybe it’s the message that just still resonates. One way or another, I love this design and always will!

For CRAFT COAST the Last Unboxing you’ll see in this office!

I love designing for Craft Coast and I’m so stoked for these designs. Also so lucky that this package arrived on time. As many of you know, I moved out of Richmond in February so this is the last unboxing of mine that will ever be filmed in this place. I’m on the road now so hit me up if you’re on the East Coast this summer. And come fall, I’ll be heading out west!
