Today marks three years of owning Uptown Neon! What I’ve been thinking most of is the stewardship of it all. And what it’s meant to care for a business that was 35 years old when I took over. And all I’m learning because of it.

I know we’re all fed up with the 2025 post but had to sneak this in! Thanks to everyone who supports my little sliver of the neon making world! Whether you had a commissioned a piece made, brought in a repair, purchased a piece from the pre-existing collection (i.e. the neon clouds), came to my biggest solo show I’ve ever had, took a risk and bought a blind box at the holiday market, or walked by and ooooed and aaaaahed at the neon hanging inside the shop, yes I saw you on the ring and yes it makes my heart happy!👀

Looking forward to a big year ahead and excited to share some plans for that soon!👩🏻‍🍳⚡️🫠

I’ve been working tirelessly for the past month getting ready for this show. The count is up to about 30 brand new original pieces that will be on display at Black Iris for the entire month of September.

As I was designing the show, I kept in mind a couple things that I wanted every piece to emulate: work that is ready to hang and exist in your home, projecting stunning light that will live with you.

Above all, a simple note rests on my bending table that has served as a daily reminder-“make it pretty” 🪩😮‍💨
