It’s Not Just Who You Know — It’s Who Trusts You
We have all heard the phrase, “It’s all about who you know.” In business, that may be true, but I think there is more to it.
It is also about who knows you well enough to trust you, remember you, and confidently recommend you.
Building a strong network is not about collecting the most business cards or having the longest contact list. It is about creating real relationships with people who understand who you are, what you do, and who you help.
Start by being intentional. Who is your ideal client? Who already serves that same client? Who would make a great referral partner?
Then get involved. Attend local events. Join organizations. Volunteer. Show up consistently. People are much more likely to refer business to someone they have seen, heard from, and built trust with over time.
And don’t forget to give first. Be helpful. Make introductions. Share resources. Celebrate other people’s wins. A generous networker is almost always a memorable networker.
Networking is not instant coffee. It takes time to brew. But when you do it well, it can become one of the most powerful tools for growing your business.
