But after working with so many businesses, we’ve noticed something. The brands people connect with most aren’t usually the ones that started out perfect.

Sometimes we just need to pull an old project out and admire her for a minute.

There’s something we love 🥰 about seeing all the pieces of a brand together. The logo variations, the supporting elements, colors, photography and watching them create a whole personality for the business.

Because a brand never meant to be one logo used over and over again.

It’s a whole visual language that gives you different ways to show up while being recognizable as you.

One of the biggest misconceptions about branding is that it starts with colors, fonts, or logo.

For us, it starts with the conversation. We ask a lot of questions.

Not because we’re trying to fill out a questionnaire, but because we’re listening. 👂🏻 Listening for the words that keep up coming up. The stories that make someone’s face light up.

One of the biggest differences between business owners, and their customers is what each person notices.

When you’ve spent hours (or days 😅) looking at your brand, it’s easy to start obsessing over the tiniest details.

We get it. We’re designers! We noticed those things too.

But your audience isn’t looking at your brand the same way you are. They’re paying attention to how it makes them feel. Do they trust you? Do they understand what you do? Does everything feel intentional and authentic?

Most people think 💭 of their brand as having one color.
but here is something that usually stops our clients in their tracks. Every single color in your brand is adding another layer to your story. Another feeling. Another dimension of who you are.

Your primary color sets the tone. Your supporting tones build depth. Your accent colors add personality and energy. Together they create a full body experience.

Think about how different warm terracotta feels versus cool sage. Or how a pop of golden yellow changes the whole mood of a palette. That is not accidental. That is your brand speaking 🗣️ before you do!

We have been living for a slow, nostalgic kind of summer lately.

Grainy photos. Soft colors. And the kind of light that makes everything feel warm and a little faded. It has been giving us all the nineties summer ☀️ feels and honestly we are not mad about it.

So we let that feeling inspire a little palette. Retro beach meets vibes meet memories of summer. Sun warmed linen, dusty terracotta, vintage peach, faded denim, sage green and butter yellow.

Color inspiration can come from anywhere. A photo, a feeling, a season you cannot stop thinking about. That is the magic of it.

This is what running a business in the summer actually looks like for us right now.

Some days genuinely feel seamless: kids are entertained, client work gets done, everything flows.
And then other days, it’s a little bit of chaos 🤪 a little bit of “ wait, did I respond to that email?” and a whole lot of figuring out as we get.

We’re juggling full kids on summer break days while also keeping the studio running and honestly? Both things matter to us so much.

We want to be present for our kids this summer and we also love 🥰 what we do here at Wildheart Ridge.

So this is the real, Unfiltered version. Not always polished, not always perfectly balance, but always showing up the best we can.

One of the biggest misconceptions we hear from business owners?

That their logo has to explain everything they do.

It makes sense why people think that. When you're pouring your heart 💗 into your business, it's easy to want one little logo to tell your whole story.

But that's a lot to ask of one tiny mark.

A logo isn't meant to explain your business. It's meant to be remembered.

The storytelling happens everywhere else.

Through your message.
Through your website.
Through your content.
Through the experience people have with your business.

That's where people learn who you are, what you do, and why they should choose you.

A great logo simply opens the door. The rest of your brand is what invites people in.
