A few months ago, Mika-Taché and I started recording honest conversations about solopreneur life.

Not polished business advice, or “how to scale to 7 figures.”
We're not pretending we have everything figured out. just having real conversations about:
* career pivots
* uncertainty
* burnout
* momentum
* creativity
* identity shifts
* and building something new in real time

Somewhere along the way, this little side project quietly became a real podcast.

It’s called: You Good, Girl?

And yes… I probably should have mentioned it sooner.

New episode coming soon. Catch up on your favorite platform.

A lot of marketing conversations don’t actually require a giant engagement or six months of strategy decks.

Sometimes people just need: a sounding board, a second opinion, help prioritizing, clarity on what matters next, or reassurance they’re not completely overthinking everything.

(Which, to be fair, happens to the best of us.)

That’s why I started offering Marketing Office Hours.

Focused 30-minute conversations for business owners and teams who want practical outside perspective from someone actively in the work every day.

Come with a question. Leave with clearer direction and someone who is rooting for you.

Marketing is shifting.

You can feel it in: declining website traffic, AI-generated search results, changing social algorithms, fragmented discovery
and customers making decisions faster than ever.

But underneath all the noise, I think the bigger shift is this: Marketing is moving from interruption toward assistance.

From chasing clicks toward helping people make decisions. From isolated websites toward connected ecosystems. From keyword stuffing toward contextual relevance. And from vanity metrics toward meaningful action.

The businesses adapting best right now aren’t necessarily the loudest or fastest.

They’re becoming: clearer, more useful, easier to trust, and more consistent across platforms.

That’s the shift I’m paying attention to. Which one feels most true to what you’re seeing right now?

One thing I’ve noticed lately: A lot of business owners and marketers feel like they’re trying to keep up with five years of change all at once.
* AI.
* Search.
* Content.
* Algorithms.
* Platforms.
* Customer behavior.

All shifting simultaneously.

That’s part of why I started writing The Edit.

It’s not a “top marketing news” roundup.

It’s more: “here’s what I’m noticing underneath the headlines.”

The goal is to make all this change feel a little clearer and more useful.

Next issue goes out next week.

If thoughtful marketing strategy (minus the hype) sounds useful, subscribe today - link in bio.

Marketing feels a little like a roller coaster lately.

* AI-generated search.
* Shifting algorithms.
* Fragmented discovery.
* Endless new tools.
* Constant predictions about what’s “dead.”

I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about what’s actually changing underneath all of it, and what businesses should focus on instead of chasing every new tool.

Wrote a new piece about it this week: “AI Is Changing Marketing Fast. Don’t Panic.”

Been thinking about project kickoff moments lately. Ever have a client who isn’t quite sure what they want, but they know they want it to look great?

That moment shows up in a lot of projects.

Sometimes the brief doesn’t quite answer the questions the team needs yet, because the business goals and messaging are still taking shape.

I’ve started thinking about that stage as “context before creative.” Read more about it here: https://f.mtr.cool/xfsouwswkb

When business goals, customer perspective, and market landscape come together, the direction becomes clearer and the creative work tends to follow.

Curious if others have seen this too.

One year in, one thing is clear: Reputation can build a business. But it can’t steer it.

I’m focused on helping home and design firms move beyond referral-only growth and build intentional positioning.

If you want more control over where growth comes from, the conversation is open.
