Six years ago today I was featured on Essence Magazine's website and social media as part of the viral and I still have to stop and thank God for moments like this.

Shoutout to Farrah Faux for starting it all. While everybody was doing the , she got on Twitter and said hey, we have our own publications. Let's celebrate OURS. And that simple call to action changed everything.

I took a photo from a shoot that had been sitting in the archives for almost a year at that point. We had not gotten a single placement from it. And then just like that, it became my first feature in a national publication.

You never know who is watching. You never know what moment is going to be THE moment. That is why you keep creating, keep shooting, keep showing up even when it feels like nothing is moving.

Thank you to the incredibly talented Emma Lozo for bringing me and these other beautiful women together in the mountains of Virginia to make that shoot happen. You gave me something I did not even know I was going to need yet.

This is proof that your work is always working even when you are not.

Nobody prepares you for the “okay, now what?” era. 🤷🏾‍♀️ You cross the stage, they hand you the diploma, and then… silence. No roadmap. No orientation. Just vibes and anxiety. 🫪 The questions get louder, the options feel overwhelming, and somehow everyone else seems to have a plan but you. If you’re in that “I just graduated but I’m still figuring it out” season…Hey!! Me too. 😅 Let’s talk about it.
