🚨 FBI STILL HUNTING “NEIGHBOR NEXT DOOR” ACCUSED OF FAKING TERMINAL BRAIN CANCER TO SCAM LOVED ONES OUT OF $100K FOR LUXURY AUSTRALIAN GETAWAYS 💰🧳

A Pennsylvania woman is living life on the lam after allegedly orchestrating one of the most heartless scams in recent memory: pretending she was dying from aggressive brain cancer to drain thousands, possibly up to $100,000 from the pockets of trusting family, friends, and sympathetic supporters.

Vanessa O’Rourke, 37, of Harleysville in Montgomery County, is wanted by the FBI on 15 counts of wire fraud According to federal authorities, between October 2015 and July 2016 she repeatedly told loved ones she had been diagnosed with glioblastoma, a fast-moving, often fatal form of brain cancer, and desperately needed cash for medical treatments, daily living expenses, and experimental care overseas.

Instead of fighting for her life, prosecutors say she was living it up Down Under.🏖️

In April 2016, O’Rourke jetted off to Australia for what she claimed was life-saving treatment. Court documents allege she spent the trip sightseeing, relaxing, and enjoying recreational activities, with zero medical care involved. Back home, she ramped up the sympathy machine: friends and family organized fundraisers, including a donation webpage and a benefit event at a local Pennsylvania restaurant. Supporters poured in cash. She allegedly used those funds for yet another luxury trip to Australia later that year, again, all leisure, no treatment.

💔 The betrayal cut deep. Victims believed they were helping a dying young woman. Organizers rallied communities. Donations flowed in under false pretenses of hope and healing. All while O’Rourke was allegedly sunning herself on the other side of the world.

A federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania indicted her on May 3, 2018. A warrant was issued for her arrest, but she vanished. Eight years later, the FBI is still actively searching. On May 23, 2026, the bureau reminded the public she remains on its radar as a fugitive.

O’Rourke’s physical description (per FBI):

- Date of birth: July 14, 1988
- Height: 5’7”
- Weight: 170 lbs
- Hair: Brown
- Eyes: Brown
- Race: White
- Aliases: Vanessa Gulinello, Cecilia Vincent Gaeta Lazaro

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is urged to contact the FBI or local law enforcement immediately.

🩶 A stark reminder in the age of GoFundMe stories. Cancer scams like this prey on the kindest parts of human nature, the desire to help someone in their darkest hour. While O’Rourke’s alleged scheme unfolded years ago, her case continues to highlight how easily trust can be weaponized for personal gain.

The FBI’s Philadelphia field office continues the hunt. If you know anything, speak up, justice for the victims may still be possible.

Bruni man arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, deadly conduct discharge of a firearm

Laredo, TX (Webb County) – At approximately 10 pm on Saturday, May 30,, the Webb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic violence assault that occurred at a residence in Bruni, Texas. The female victim stated to responding deputies that her spouse Steven Garnett Marshall, 50, pointed a firearm at her during a verbal dispute and ultimately discharged the firearm in her direction.

The case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and was presented to the District Attorney’s Office. Warrants were approved on Marshall for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon felony 2 and deadly conduct discharge of a firearm felony 3. Justice of the Peace Oscar Liendo issued the arrest warrants.

At approximately 2 pm on Thursday, June 4, CID investigators executed the warrants of arrest. Marshall was transported to the Webb County Jail in lieu of a $75,000 bond for the aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. Bond on the deadly conduct discharge of a firearm has not been set.

The Sheriff’s Office, under the recommendation of Sheriff Martin Cuellar, applied for a protective order on behalf of the victim.
