👋 Stop and say hello! Our AAF Roanoke Board President, Raki Wright Clements, has a message for us as we kick off the year ⬇️
Hello, AAF Roanoke! My name is Raki Wright Clements and I’m honored to serve as your president for 2026–2027. After serving as Diversity Chair for the past two years, I’m especially grateful for the opportunity to continue supporting an organization that has meant so much to me.
One of the things I’ve always valued about our advertising community is just that: community. Our industry brings together people with very different talents and perspectives: designers, writers, strategists, developers, account managers, media professionals, photographers, videographers, students, agency leaders, in-house teams, freelancers, and many more. AAF gives us a place to step outside of our day-to-day work and learn from one another.
That sense of connection is something I hope we continue to strengthen this year.
Our board is looking forward to creating opportunities to learn, build relationships, celebrate great work, and support the next generation of advertising and creative professionals in our region. And we want AAF Roanoke to be an organization where you don’t simply receive an invitation to an event. We want you to feel like there’s a reason for you to be there.
We also want to hear from you. Tell us what you’d like to learn about, who you’d like to hear from, and what would make your AAF membership more valuable. Better yet, come join us at an event, introduce yourself to someone you haven’t met, or find a way to get involved.
I’m extremely fortunate to be working alongside a talented board again this year, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can build together. I hope to see you soon!
