🌱 Today I'm proud to officially share something that has been on my heart for a long time.

I am launching Rooted & Rising, a scholarship initiative that dedicates a portion of every real estate commission I earn to students in Fulton and Marshall Counties pursuing college or trade school.

Education has always meant a lot to me. I grew up in a small town in Appalachia where scholarship opportunities were limited, and I saw firsthand how financial barriers could keep talented students from continuing their education. Those experiences stayed with me and shaped the way I think about opportunity and giving back.

Through Rooted & Rising, every home bought or sold with me will help contribute to scholarships administered through the Northern Indiana Community Foundation and Argos Dollars for Scholars. My hope is that as my business grows, the opportunities for students in our community grow too.

Real estate is about more than houses. It's about families, milestones, and building a future. I'm grateful that through this program, those moments can also help open doors for local students.

Being rooted in this community means giving back to it. I'm so excited to see what Rooted & Rising can do in the years ahead.

I’m going LIVE on Giant FM WROI 92.1 with Randy Wynn at 9:30 AM and I honestly cannot wait.

This is something I’ve been pouring my heart into behind the scenes for a long time. Something deeply personal that I believe can genuinely change lives right here in Fulton and Marshall Counties.

This is bigger than real estate. It’s about the people in this community and the belief that where you grow up should never determine how far you can go.

Small business tip when updating your page name:

Make sure it’s exactly what you want before you submit it.

Facebook only allows you to change your page name once every 60 days. If you accidentally submit something that isn’t quite right, you’re stuck with it until that window opens again.

I learned that one the hard way.

I had the date marked in my calendar and watched the countdown until I could update it again. Happy to say it’s finally fixed and my page now reflects my brand the way it should.

If you’re making updates to your business page, double-check everything before you hit confirm. It can save you a long wait.

I had the opportunity to meet today with Jess O’blenis, owner of Not Today Martha Cleaning & Organization Services and local business owner Lisa Kay. We spent time talking about what really goes into building and growing a small business and the work that happens behind the scenes.

Owning a business can feel like a lot at times, but it’s so much better when you’re surrounded by people who understand the journey. It was refreshing to talk openly, encourage one another, and support each other as part of our local small business community.
