A new painting, “Unalienable Rights,” is on view in the John L. Wehle Gallery through July.

Created by Rochester artist Celeste Blair, the original work weaves together symbols spanning 250 years of American history. “With this painting, I wanted to honor the courage, struggles, and unity of the people who define America—past and present,” Blair says.

This painting presents a poignant moment of connection between a soldier and a black horse draped in the American flag. The soldier’s gentle touch and bowed head convey a quiet reverence and shared understanding. Soft, muted colors blend to evoke a serene, reflective atmosphere. This piece extends a subtle invitation to honor loyalty and companionship, making it a meaningful addition to any collection.
17" x 14" in Acrylics on Arches Oil & Water Color Paper and priced at $850.00 for the original with frame.
Archival reprints are available at reduced prices on archival paper or canvas.
