Anderson Japanese Gardens was recently featured by Midwest Living as one of the “20 Best Botanical Gardens and Arboretums for an Easy Afternoon Escape.” The article highlights the garden as a peaceful Rockford destination, with streams, waterfalls, winding pathways, koi-filled ponds, year-round events and cultural experiences.

We’re thrilled to see one of Rockford’s most beautiful spaces celebrated on a regional stage. It’s another reminder that our city continues to grow as a destination for beauty, culture and meaningful experiences.

Whether you're looking for a scenic place to walk or for gardening education, these public gardens throughout the Midwest will inspire you. Our favorites include the Morton Arboretum in Illinois, the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, and the Frederik Meijer Garden and Sculpture Park in Grand R...

A huge thank you to the YMCA of Rock River Valley for being an incredible partner for IRONMAN 70.3 Rockford - Illinois

From opening their boathouse and rowing resources to supporting race-day operations, hosting an aid station, and having staff volunteer throughout the event, the Y continues to show what community partnership looks like in action.

Locals looking for a great spot to cheer on the athletes can head to the Swedish American Riverfront YMCA to be part of the race-day energy. Bring your signs, your cowbells, and your race day spirit!

We’re grateful for partners like the YMCA who help make Rockford a welcoming, energized, and unforgettable destination for athletes, volunteers, and spectators.
