According to the US small Business administration there are nearly 30 million small businesses in the United States. Of those 30 million, two thirds will survive 2 years, half will survive 5 years, and only one third will survive 10 years. In the economic situation we are currently in, we don't have this data yet, but times are challenging.

I'm sure you can relate to having a dream of something bigger than you are. Imagine your ULTIMATE dream having a "statistical expiration" of 2 years.

Local businesses change our community from being the same as every other big community to being unique, individual, and show the soul of the community.

Supporting them not only creates new jobs, but encourages a dream and a promise that our community is unique and worth supporting. Supporting local is a great way to resist too.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing local businesses work together to help elevate each other and seeing a community share the love of shopping small, recommending small, for everything from food to hair to retail.

If you want cool, unique, and fun things in your city, support local businesses as much as possible. Support local even when you travel. I can’t convince you how important it is, you have to believe it.

I recently got back from a speaking engagement in England, and it reminded me just how much I love to speak to various masterminds, communities, podcasts, and on stage.

This feels so good to say — I find myself so creatively inspired lately. The last few years I truly only work with those who feel like a "hell yeah" to me and because of that shift in my business —I get to see the HUGE impact the people I work with are making in the world, they are in business for the right reason. They have the greater good at heart. They want to do good and help others. It makes everything feel good in a world that’s a little scary.

I just have to say it–– it's so completely obvious when entrepreneurs (or people) use Chat GPT to write their posts, while only changing a few words. They're all unlocking, embracing, and transforming a whoooole lot. 😂

I don't hate AI ... at all! I think it makes so much accessibilty possible for so many people. But your story is so important and so beautiful, why would you want to sound like everyone else's?

Would it be helpful for me to share what I DO use Ai for vs what I don't use Ai for?

What do we all have in common? Well no one is immune from wondering how to dive into “what’s next?” We are compassionate, uplifting, and yet we all have heavy things we’ve been carrying around, filters we’ve been running our lives through that maybe aren’t even our own.

What makes us different? The ways we express our encouragement. The way we help each other. The ways we present help and ask for help. The passions and purposes that light us up. The moments that something starts making sense and excites us to take that next step forward.

As I observed all of our incredible attendees this year, I saw how everyone stepped in when another needed it. I saw ideas click for one person in moment A that clicked for another in moment B. I saw so much growth mindset as these women said “okay…what is possible, now?” I saw confidence in their work become so much clearer and firmer as the weekend went on. It was beautiful.

Weekends like this one serve a big purpose for me too. It reminds me how much I love serving people, particularly those who give everything to everyone around them. I love serving people whose purpose keeps them up at night because I’m one of those people too.

I was grateful for the opportunity to serve so many smart and talented women at The Work Retreat, co-facilitated by the brilliant Molly Grisham, over the last weekend and its been so cool to see our attendees checking in and continuing to cheer each other on in our community channels.
