GOING TO POST THIS ONE MORE TIME:
TAKE THE TIME TO READ IT !Written By a fellow Designer . About "AI" logos/Graphics . And "things" designed ONLINE . I AGREE WITH ALL OF IT. Take the Time To Read it all. :......................Consider this a PSA about online low resolution 'designs' copy-paste, point and Click & Clipart...or AI-generated designs.
I’ve had a significant increase in customers bringing me AI-generated logos and artwork and asking for “small edits,” along with “can you print this.” Unfortunately, this is where issues begin.
Layers: AI does not create editable layers. That means I can’t simply change colors, swap fonts, or move individual elements. What you get is a flattened image—editing it properly usually requires rebuilding it from scratch.
Size & Quality: AI designs are generated at screen-friendly sizes, not production-ready sizes. They often cannot be scaled up for banners, signs, decals, or large-format printing without becoming blurry, distorted, or unusable.
Originality: AI heavily recycles fonts, layouts, and visual assets. Your “custom” logo may already exist in dozens—or hundreds—of nearly identical versions, just with different business names pasted on.
File Formats: Most AI outputs are not provided in proper vector formats (AI, EPS, SVG). Without vector files, designs cannot be cleanly resized, cut, engraved, or professionally printed.
Print Compatibility: AI does not understand bleed, trim, safe zones, CMYK color spaces, or real-world material limitations. Colors that look fine on a screen can shift dramatically—or print incorrectly—on physical products.
Consistency Issues: AI cannot reliably recreate the same design across multiple revisions or assets. Need matching signage, apparel, and decals? Expect mismatched fonts, spacing, or proportions every time.
Brand Longevity: AI-generated designs are trend-heavy and generic. They often age poorly and don’t scale well as your business grows, leaving you needing a redesign sooner than expected.
Legal & Usage Risks: AI-generated artwork exists in a legal gray area. You may not fully own the rights to your logo, and there is a real risk of unintentional copyright conflicts.
I’m not saying AI has no place—but it is not a substitute for properly designed, editable, print-ready artwork. In many cases, fixing or recreating an AI design takes more time, more effort, and more cost than starting with a professionally designed file.
Please keep this in mind before sending over AI-generated designs and expecting quick or inexpensive edits, or total use of AI images.....Most when Blown up for Real like application are a blurred mess , and We end up rebuilding from scratch.
