This is an online/remote/face-to-face course. Over the seven weeks of our semester, we will explore how to create a broad range of digital art from the creative concept of storytelling, editing, creation to export files. This course will allow us to explore four Adobe art programs — Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat and Premiere. Each creates a specific form of digital art. (Rasterized, pixel-based outputs, vector illustrations, page design and .pdf, and time-based video and .mp4 file). We will examine how applications tools work and explore, through projects and exercises, how to best use specific tools to create what we have sketched out or pictured in our heads. How? Each week you will learn through video, lectures, and exercises files how to create one new project assignment!
You will explore different approaches to generating ideas for visual work as well as be expected to participate in group discussions -- video and mics on -- in break out rooms and in the class. You will also learn how to make aesthetically pleasing pieces by working with the elements and principles of design. This class can be the most exciting class you'll ever take. Discover how you can persuasively express yourself as an artist — and build your confidence wherever your career takes you. Please join me, professor Fahey on our journey as we investigate different types of digital art and push ourselves conceptually and technically to create artwork that challenges you and changes your world perspective.
