Last week, I won a pitch competition for graduates of the RPBA’s GROW/PROGRESSANDO program! It was a great program where I learned a lot about how to run my business and I was really excited for the opportunity to pitch at the end. I really didn’t expect to win with the amazing other businesses I was against, but I am grateful that I did. I plan to use the money to expand my reach through networking, so you guys will be seeing more of me at local networking events!

Last week I had the pleasure of attending 2 networking events and meeting a ton of really interesting business owners. The Northside Networking group’s event was very structured and I got a lot of chances to work on my elevator pitch and it was my first even in Chicago that I recognized another attendee! Then I went to a multi-chamber mixer in Winnetka and saw people from the previous event and it was so fun! I also ran into a few people who I from outside of networking events and I am starting to feel connected here. Always a good time.

I tried the color hunt photography challenge while I was downtown this weekend and was surprised by quantity of orange window displays that are out on the magnificent mile right now. I picked orange because it is one of my favorite colors and it helps that it’s my brand’s color.

I want to point out the stroke of luck that the people ordering from the food truck ordered a mangaron jaritos right then. I like that picture a lot.

I had a fun photoshoot last week for Sticky Spoons Jam. They are always a pleasure to work with and their jam is incredible! My favorite is the Blueberry Lavender Jam and we just tried a Peach Mango Serrano Jam, and it was so good!
