One of our clients has been getting leads through their website contact form for weeks now. No ads, no Google Business Profile yet, just a clear website that makes it easy to reach them.
We're actually still working on getting their Google Business piece set up. That's the profile you see in Google Maps and local search results, with photos, hours, and reviews. It's the next thing on our list with them. They're already seeing leads come in. Once that profile is live and properly filled out, we expect things to step up another notch.
A lot of local business owners feel like they need to have everything going at once before anything starts to work. Website, ads, Google, social, email. In reality, one or two pieces set up well can carry a small business for a long time. Then you add the next thing.
This client's site has been doing its job on its own. Adding their Google profile on top of that is an upgrade. The basics already work, and adding the next piece is the natural time to do it.
If you're trying to decide where to start, the order matters. A website that's hard to contact isn't fixed by ads. A Google listing pointing at a broken site doesn't help either. Get one piece right, see it working, then add the next.
