⚠️ DO YOU KNOW WHAT’S IN YOUR ELECTRICAL PANEL?

Two older electrical panel brands, Federal Pacific (FPE/Stab-Lok) and Zinsco, have a documented history of breakers failing to trip when overloaded or during an electrical fault.

A breaker’s job is to shut power off before wiring overheats. When it doesn’t trip, the result can be overheating, arcing, and potentially an electrical fire.

These panels can also create problems beyond safety:

• Some insurance companies may refuse coverage, require replacement, or decline renewal when one of these panels is present.
• During a home sale, they are commonly flagged by inspectors and can create issues with insurance, financing, or closing until the panel is replaced.

If your home is older and you’re not sure what electrical panel you have, take a look at the label. You may see Federal Pacific, FPE, Stab-Lok, Zinsco, or Sylvania-Zinsco.
