What is DTF ? ? ?
Direct-to-Film (Printing) In the modern textile, garment and crafting industries, DTF stands for Direct-to-Film printing. It is a highly popular digital printing method used to create custom t-shirts, hoodies and other gear.
How it works: A design is printed digitally using specialized inkjet inks onto a clear transfer film. While the ink is still wet, a hot-melt adhesive powder is applied over it and melted using an oven or heat press. Once cured, the film can be pressed directly onto a garment (like cotton and polyester) using a heat press, leaving a sharp, vibrant and durable design. Why it's popular: Unlike traditional screen printing, it requires zero weeding (peeling away excess vinyl) or extensive setup. It also allows for full-color gradients and incredibly fine details.
