Community (now, I guess 🤷‍♂️) builds, day six: Bryan Saucier.

Vault-Tec blue and yellow, a whole lot of weathering, and a custom “84” bumper.

With a power cell instead of a Clippard valve, Bryan took his pack straight into the Wasteland, but we hope he didn’t take an arrow to the knee.

Somehow Bryan made it through the D.F.I.G.O.A.T. without being issued a set of HasBrackets. We’ll have to correct that administrative oversight.

War never changes. Proton packs apparently do.

Customer builds, day five: John Laisure.

John went all-in on the black-and-yellow hazard treatment, carrying it across the pack and wand.

I also dig the display: a TV wall mount holding the pack, trap, and a spare wand. Simple, clever use of space.

Always gotta check those haunted drawbridges with the right gear: stay strapped or get trapped. 😎

If you bought HasBrackets from us before June, this is mostly for you.

Those first systems were built around the frames we had in the shop. Then more and more of them went out, more different ALICE frames started showing up, and customer feedback made it pretty obvious just how much variation there is between different manufacturers, generations, and decades of use.

So we changed the design.

The current puck and frame brackets have more clearance built into them and are a lot more forgiving of that variation.

But we really didn’t like the idea of going back to the people who bought those first systems and saying, “Cool, now buy another whole one.”

If you’ve got one of those earlier HasBrackets systems, especially one purchased before June, you can upgrade to the current puck and revised frame brackets for $25 + shipping and reuse the hardware you already have.

Dirt Bucks work on it too— may as well cash in those vouchers and coupons we sent you.

We’re starting with 25 upgrades for the first round. Once those are gone, we’ll close it down, get them made and shipped, and see how the program goes before we open another one.

If you bought more recently and already have the current revision, you don’t need this.

Existing HasBrackets customers only. We’ll verify the original purchase before fulfillment.

A lot of the changes we’ve made to HasBrackets came directly from you guys actually using them, sending photos, asking questions, and showing us what was happening on your own frames.

So this felt like the right way to handle it.

Customer builds, day four: Chip Gillock’s pack got slimed — and kept the Ecto Cooler badge to prove it.

What looks like custom-made pink slime drips, exposed metal PPD, rainbow ribbon cable, and of course a tasteful application hazard striping. 🧐

It looks like somebody took a GB1 pack, threw in a little RGB, and bolted on the best part of a ’90s lunchbox.

The whole thing reads very late-’80s / early-’90s, and that is 💯 a compliment.

Customer builds, day three: Tom Sprindis.

At first glance, you might think this is a pretty clean HasLab setup.

Far from it.

Tom has tinkered with a ton of the cosmetics: new power cell lens, proper yellow-and-black WireCare loom, fresh ’84 ribbon cable, 3D-printed grips for the Spengler wand, plus a keep-alive mod. He says a TalentCell is still on the to-do list.

And the wand is the much coveted early silver-tip version, before Hasbro decided these things looked even remotely like guns.

Side note from a gunsmith: they don’t 😆

The rest of the display is just as good. The trap appears to be a home build, the Magnoli reproduction of Tobin’s Spirit Guide is a great touch, and even the Melody Diner matchbook made it into the shot.

The modifications stay true to the HasLab Afterlife look while adding details that make the whole thing feel more convincing. It’s subtle; you start looking closer and realize just how much has actually been changed.

And naturally— it’s hanging on HasBrackets.

Customer builds, day two: Ray Duran .

“Frozen Empire” meets “TVG” in this mashup; truly a “one of one.”

Hazard striping everywhere, the now-iconic “thong bumper,” a TVG-inspired wand and green AND pink slime lines running through pack— the GB2 callback is subtle but effective to nerds like us. 🤌

I don’t even want to know how much this thing weighs.

This is what happens when you stop asking "is it screen-accurate?" and start asking "is it cool?”

Pretty dope, if you ask us— if you’re not having fun while wearing them, what’s even the point of these things?
