Comment SUBSTACK to read Day 1 of my SMM Challenge šŸ‘‡

Maybe I’m a terrible business owner for giving this much away for free, but I remember exactly what it felt like to Google every little thing and still wonder if I was doing any of it right.

I didn’t need to scour for more resources to get started. I needed someone to tell me what to do first, what could wait and what actually mattered if I wanted to get paid.

And the WHY behind it all because I’m the type of person that needs to connect the dots!

So that’s what I’m sharing for the next 60 days. (Most updates will be on Substack - be sure to subscribe!)

Day 1 is all about choosing a niche, including the mistake that can box you in before you ever pitch your first client.

Your mindset will try to keep you exactly where you are.

Five years into running a business, and I STILL catch myself thinking small. Those thoughts do not magically disappear just because the numbers change.

I went from making $15 an hour driving a forklift to building a multi-six-figure business, and those old thoughts still show up uninvited.

So sometimes, you have to do something a little silly. Like accept $30,000 in fake money from someone you trust, just so your brain can begin to comprehend that it really CAN happen for you. šŸ˜‚

When those thoughts show up, notice them for what they are. Name them. Pivot. Keep moving.

You are not those thoughts, and what’s possible for you is so much bigger than where you are right now.

This is exactly what we’re talking about inside my SMM Challenge on Substack.

I’m sharing real insights, practical challenges and resources to help you start your social media marketing business without waiting for fear to disappear first.

A lot of people push business and entrepreneurship on you and wave flashy vacations and pictures just ā€œlivingā€ life, but it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows.

Sometimes growth (or life) doesn’t ask if you’re ready.

It just shows up on a random Tuesday when you’re knee deep in client work and haven’t even had your first meal of the day, and demolishes the comfort zone you didn’t even realize you were standing in.

And when that happens, you don’t get a choice to go back.

The old version of comfortable is gone. So here’s what’s actually gonna help.

First, name it.

Your brain treats uncertainty as a threat, & that’s just neuroscience.

Say out loud ā€œmy comfort zone just got demolishedā€ instead of pretending you’re fine. Feel your feelings & move on. Don’t ruminate yourself into a spiral.

Naming it takes it out of your nervous system and puts it in your prefrontal cortex where you can actually think.

Second, stop looking for the old ground. It’s gone.

Chasing ā€œhow do I get back to normalā€ keeps you stuck in what psychologists call the struggle phase. The goal isn’t to get back. It’s to build new footing.

Third, do the next physical thing, not the next big thing.

Eat the meal you skipped. Send the one email. Take a BREAK, put the phone down and go touch some grass.

Your body needs proof it’s safe before your mind will follow.

Do I love what I do? YESSSS.

Do I regret building a marketing agency?
Absolutely not.

But I won’t water down the truth. Growth costs something.

It costs certainty, it costs comfort, some days it costs your whole sense of who you are before you rebuild it stronger.

If your comfort zone just got rocked and you have no clear next step, name it, stop chasing the old ground, and do the next small thing. And give yourself grace. It will all work out.

Something bigger is coming your way. 🫶
