World’s Best Cowboys & Cowgirls Hit The Trail For El Dorado RODEO!
For the 1st time in 20 years, the world's best cowboys and girls are converging on the El Dorado County Fair in Placerville to compete at the El Dorado Stampede Rodeo, August 28th and 29th, 2026.
The rodeo again offers a full slate of ropin’, wrasslin’, and ridin’. With events for cowboys (bronc and bull riding, team roping), cowgirls (barrel races) and kids (mutton bustin’), most of the world’s best rodeo athletes are lined up to compete and perform.
The Flying Cowboys are led by rodeo legends the Rosser family, a name that has become synonymous with quality rodeo production. The Rosser family has long been known for their outstanding rodeo productions, including the flamboyant opening ceremonies presented at the National Finals Rodeo, the Houston Livestock Show and the Grand National Rodeo in San Francisco just to name a few. Rodeo is show business as far as they are concerned. And as a result, the Rossers ALWAYS, always bring a sense of pageantry and color that never fails to thrill and entrance their audiences.
Many of this year’s rodeo athletes travel a long way just to compete in the El Dorado Stampede, and so do the cowpokes who attend. The rodeo will be worth the hype of a twenty year wait! It will host countless attendees, great food, vendors, and world class entertainment annually. The El Dorado Stampede will certainly to delight the rodeo-starved local community.
The event will open on August 28th with Patriot Day! Celebrate the country and troops With red, white and blue outfits. The Official Rodeo After Party, Stampede After Dark, will start at August 29 at 8:00 PM in the Mark D. Forni Building. At this electric event, fans who are twenty-one and older that pay a $10 cover can enjoy a stampede of food and fun. Fans call also enjoy live music at the near-by El Dorado County Fair and Event Center.

It will people from as far away as Redding and the bay area, in addition to the great support it receives from the residents right here in Placerville. El Dorado Stampede will bring in some of the best pro rodeo athletes in the country. It’s will be a big economic boon for the business community and that community is rooted in western and cowboy or cowgirl culture.”
