Tomorrow evening is our next Tune into our twitch stream live at https://www.twitch.tv/creativejam to watch!

This Creative Jam is a live-streamed “create-a-thon” where artists of all mediums create works that explore how compassion impacts our lives and how our nation can do more to center compassion in decision-making, policy solutions, and our shared public life.

This co-creation gathering will feature a series of special guest hosts - entertainers, musicians, artists, issue area experts, and high-profile advocates, including Kal Penn and Sarah Jones. These speakers will issue prompts and creative briefs to participants to create from while leading conversations about their experience with compassionate policymaking and the role artists have always played in driving positive social change.

After last week’s Fresno and West Hollywood events, California vs Hate’s statewide Pride tour continued on to Sacramento!

This month, California vs Hate launched a LGBTQ+ Pride Month tour to help ensure all Californians know that there is support available when you report hate. Pride events serve as powerful platforms for promoting inclusivity, celebrating diversity, and advocating for equality across all of California’s diverse communities.

As part of the Pride tour, CA vs Hate will be offering resources in five different cities during Pride Month and unveiling a float in select locations featuring artwork celebrating equality, unity, and allyship in the fight against hate. Pride is also an opportunity to celebrate the beautiful and powerful diversity within LGBTQ+ communities with respect to race, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, and disability.

The Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) has launched a “For Your Consideration: Make Nukes History” campaign today in Los Angeles to raise public awareness about the risks posed by today’s nuclear arsenals and our collective responsibility to build a safer world. As a part of this campaign, we have produced a large art installation at the world famous Original Farmers Market near The Grove in LA which will be unveiled this Friday, March 8th.

Leveraging the attention on Oscar-nominated film Oppenheimer, the conversation around nuclear threats will be further elevated by the campaigns’ billboards, videos on social media, and 1,000 street posters. Additionally, an open letter will be published in the tomorrow from top artists and Oppenheimer cast members including Julianne Moore, Michael Douglas, and Emma Thompson. Read the open letter here: www.makenukeshistory.org/open-letter

Join us in calling for an end to the global arms race. For more information on the campaign visit www.makenukeshistory.org.

Last Saturday, joined LA County Supervisor Holly Mitchell to kick off United Against Hate Week by unveiling a new mural that celebrates LA County’s Black community at a special event at Willowbrook Senior Center. The mural, “It’s All For You,” by Brittney Price, is the fifth and final mural of LA vs Hate’s Summer of Solidarity, a public art series that celebrates the diverse communities of Los Angeles. Returning for its fourth annual campaign, LA vs Hate’s United Against Hate Week (UAHW) is part of a statewide call for local civic action to put a stop to the spread of hate and discrimination, which remains a threat to our school campuses, neighborhoods, towns, and cities.
