After driving 6,000 miles across 14 states, we officially wrapped our 24-day documentary production for Unseen Chains.

This video is the start of a new series where I’ll be sharing updates, behind-the-scenes moments, and the journey of making this film.

It was an intense and powerful trip, full of stories, interviews, healing, and hard truth. And now we begin the process of shaping it into a feature film for theaters next year.

You know those trips that you go on that you will never forget? Well this was one of those. One of my favorite parts of what I do is traveling to remote locations. This one takes the cake! But not only because of the location, but because I got to go with some of my best friends.

Every year I interview our daughter and every year her answers getting cuter and cuter. This has become my favorite tradition that I plan on doing with all of our kids as the grow up. She looks like a teenager! 😭 ♥️

Passion projects are so important to keep that creative spark alive. They also give me a chance to test out new lighting techniques and new pieces of gear. I was excited to test out 50mm T2.9 1.6x FF anamorphic lens on my Sony FX6.

I’m very pleased with how the lens performed! It is very sharp wide open. Adding the Mist filter and some haze took the edge off for my liking. The lens throw is short but smooth. I will definitely be picking up the rest of the set when they come out next year.

We lit everything with .lighting and a couple of tubes. Really pushed hard to keep each scene as natural as possible.

Can’t forget about and that made this grade extra creamy. Very happy with the final images!

Big thanks to the people who helped make this possible ♥️
