What a morning at Visit Sacramento’s State of Tourism.

So much momentum in our city right now — here’s a little of what’s ahead:
-for country music lovers.. GoldenSky returns in 2027
-Terra Madre Americas back again in 2027
- the California International Marathon gearing up for a major expansion
- Ironman keeps growing
- and later this month… the X Games

While we didn’t take many photos today 😅 we loved connecting — the quick hugs, the hellos, catching up with the people across our industry and community who make this region special.

So proud SociosPR has gotten to partner with Visit Sacramento these last few years. So much of this gets built quietly, long before it ever hits a stage.

Grateful to play a small part — and already excited for what’s next. 💛

The campaigns that last are not just effective — they are responsible.

Culturally fluent communication means:
• understanding the communities you’re speaking to
• choosing language with care, especially across cultures
• avoiding “visibility” that comes at someone else’s expense
• telling stories with dignity and context

Impact is not only about reach. It is also about respect.

One of my core leadership beliefs is simple: serve first.

In business, service can sometimes be mistaken for softness — but it’s not. It takes discipline. It means doing the research, respecting the audience, protecting the message, and delivering on what you promised.

Service is how we build trust — and trust is what makes communications work.

If you’re building something with heart, what keeps you grounded?

Our founder, Lilly was invited to speak at the California Water Association’s 2026 Spring Policy Symposium in Sacramento — bringing cultural intelligence to the conversation on public trust and community outreach.

Proud of you, Lilly.

Most days, our team isn’t in the same room — and that’s by design.

With team members across Northern and Southern California, we collaborate remotely while staying closely connected through clear communication, shared expectations, and respect for one another’s time.

Working this way allows us to bring together the right mix of experience, perspective, and cultural insight for each engagement — without being limited by location.

What keeps it working is intention.
- How we communicate.
- How we plan.
- And how we show up for one another and our clients.

Last week, we proudly supported our client at their first two Transitional Kindergarten outreach event. Our team and ambassadors were out in the community connecting with families, sharing information, and helping spread the word about TK. We’re excited to keep the momentum going.

P.S. We did not take many photos!

This Small Business Week, the numbers speak for themselves.

- 32,000+ small businesses call Sacramento County home.
- Latino-owned businesses grew 44% from 2018–2023. Woot Woot
- Hispanic entrepreneurs own 26% of California businesses — over 1 million strong.

Small businesses create jobs. Build culture. Anchor neighborhoods. And Latino/a entrepreneurs are driving that growth faster than anyone.

We're proud to be a small business. We're proud to stand alongside every owner taking the risk and doing the work. This week and every week.

Last week, we kicked off one of our newest projects with our wonderful client, .

As part of this initiative, we had the honor of interviewing Agustín Arteaga, Ph.D., Mort and Marcy Friedman Director & CEO of our other dear client, Museum.

This project is all about humanizing the Sacramento experience through authentic stories from local Latino voices — stories that reflect the city’s culture, community, and welcoming spirit.

Agustín shared heartfelt reflections on Sacramento’s essence, its people, and the kinds of authentic local experiences that make the city feel vibrant, inclusive, community-rooted— and why people should take the time to come and experience the city for themselves.

We’re excited for the launch of the Spanish newsletter later this year, where you’ll be able to read more from this conversation. Visit the Bienvenidos a Sacramento website for more.
