You’re Being Manipulated Without Even Realizing It... 🤫

That’s the power of brilliant branding.

Ever wonder why fast-food logos are often red and yellow? Or why luxury brands lean into black and gold? It’s not by accident. Brands are masters of color psychology, subtly guiding your emotions and actions through every hue in their branding, packaging, and even the UX/UI of their websites.

From sparking hunger to signaling trust, colors are pulling your strings more than you think. Understanding this isn’t just fascinating—it’s essential for anyone looking to build an authentic, impactful brand.

Want to learn how to use color to silently influence your customers? let’s get in touch! 630-940-2417

Back in 2019 my son helped create a BUZZ about pediatric cancer by fundraising and getting his head shaved by Cal’s Angels for their Just Shave It event. At the time, we had no personal connection to the foundation — which makes it all the more surreal (& awesome) that 6 years later, WE had the honor of rebranding that very same event.

Today, we’re excited to share the new look we created for Just Shave It — happening today!

The original event badge had heart, but it struggled with clarity: a full logo + tagline, a distressed script font, and clipart-style clippers that felt lost in the design.

With the redesign, we prioritized bold, clean typography for easy readability, created a custom illustration of the clippers front and center, and showcased a simplified Cal’s Angels logo. My favorite part? The Cal’s Pediatric Cancer ribbon cleverly transforms into the cord of the clippers — a small but powerful “aha!” moment that ties it all together.

Not only is the new badge more legible and visually striking, but it also stands strong as its own brand. Because here’s the thing: event branding matters just as much as company branding.

While Just Shave It is a Cal’s Angels event, it needed its own distinct identity — one that feels connected, but not identical. Consistency builds recognition, but differentiation builds memory &excitement. Without strong event branding, even the most meaningful causes can get overlooked.

If your organization is planning an event, don’t just slap your logo on it — build a brand that people will rally around and remember. Need help? Let’s get in touch! 📲 630-940-2417

And if you want to support the fight against pediatric cancer today, check out in St. Charles from 12–3 PM and cheer on the brave souls getting their heads shaved — just like my son Christian did 6 years ago. 🎗️

We’re honored to be in the process of building a brand-new foundation from the ground up for our client, The AFTER Foundation—a future resource, guide, and safe haven for families to utilize *after* they have chosen to adopt or foster. 💜

Here’s an early concept we explored: a firefly symbolizing hope, guidance, and warmth. Its glowing heart reflects the love and care at the core of The AFTER Foundation’s mission for guiding every family through their journey. The firefly also evokes a sense of childhood nostalgia most people can relate to—summer nights, joy, and connection—the perfect connotation for a family-centered foundation.

While the client ultimately wants to go a different direction with the symbolism for the foundation, we still loved this concept and its meaning. 💡

👉 What do you think of this firefly concept? Drop your thoughts below and stay tuned for the official brand reveal!

One of the #1 things a brand needs to be successful is credibility and the main way to gain credibility is through CONSISTENCY.

What do we mean? Follow these 3 things to gain credibility :

1️⃣ Visual identity. Ensure that visual elements such as logo, color palette, and typography are consistent across all brand materials, like websites, social media & marketing collateral . This reinforces brand recognition. PSSTTT.. This is what a brand guidelines book is for. Use it. LIVE BY IT!

2️⃣ Tone & messaging. Maintain a consistent tone of voice & messaging in all communications, including advertising & social media. This helps to establish a distinct brand personality and reinforces the brand’s values and positioning. Wendy’s does a phenomenal job of this, always remaining sassy, which attracts their younger target audience.

3️⃣ Show up (and often). Regularly post on social media, blogs, or newsletters with a consistent tone, style & schedule. An erratic posting pattern or off-brand content can weaken recognition and engagement. Bonus Tip: use content calendars to schedule and plan these things to ensure you’re showing up often (and easily!)

So when you use your brand guidelines to have a consistent visual identity, communicate with a consistent tone of voice, and show up regularly, you show brand consistency. This brand consistency enhances brand recognition which creates customer loyalty and customer loyalty enhances your brand’s reputation. When your brand has a good reputation, your brand is now CREDIBLE and customers will want to buy from you!

It’s that simple! But if you don’t know how to start, or don’t even have a brand guidelines book, give us a call! 630-940-2417

If you didn’t know, a lot of what we do consists of event branding. And what you also probably didn’t know is that the planning for these events happen almost a year in advance. So while we’re currently working on the branding of a new incentive trip for the end of this year, we’re going to be sharing some of the previous events we’ve had the pleasure of designing.

This first one is for Urovant’s incentive program, The Circle of Excellence, whose top performers won a trip to Lanai, Hawaii. This branding for the trip to Lanai struck the perfect balance between tropical flair and sophisticated elegance.

As the pharmaceutical company’s top achievers embarked on this exclusive journey to the Pineapple Island, we incorporated the island’s heritage with a modern twist by seamlessly blending a pineapple motif with serene beach imagery, a color palette of muted blues, tans, and soft palm shadows. From meticulously designed letterheads, notecards and activity booklets, to custom die-cut luggage tags, we ensured every item exuded a sense of luxury and refinement.

This project exemplifies how branding extends beyond corporate identities, showcasing how branded *experiences* can elevate events by creating consistency and unforgettable impressions. Our goal was to not only excite this year’s winners, but to also motivate them to strive for success year after year. 🍍☀️🌴🏆

We know we’ve been a bit MIA, but we swear its for a great reason! We’re excited to finally share our most recent rebranding project for .

When we looked at their old logo, we saw something that felt too fragile—its thin font reminded us of the vulnerability of the children battling cancer. For the new design, we wanted to create something that instead, was a visual representation of their resilience, courage, strength, and unwavering fight they face every day. The new logo features bold, hand-drawn, fully custom lettering with a solid presence, reinforcing the foundation’s mission.

The previous logo felt cluttered, featuring a small, “ring-toss” style halo, a tucked-away “.org,” and a distressed cancer ribbon inconsistently integrated into various letters of the logo and other marketing materials. This lack of cohesion led to branding confusion and inconsistency. To create a clearer, more unified identity, we removed the ribbon from the logo and reimagined it as a standalone brand element. Now, the ribbon serves as a bold, versatile symbol—empowering the brand with greater impact and the flexibility to function as a clipping mask, showcasing the brave fighters it represents.

To compliment this new bold visual identity, we’ve also brightened up the brand by incorporating lighter secondary brand colors, chosen a softer, more approachable, yet fun, accent font, and added organic playful waves as brand elements to be used throughout the new marketing material.

This rebrand gives Cal’s Angels a bold, powerful visual identity and web presence—one that embodies their unwavering mission, while also radiating hope and positivity. Designed to honor the children and families they support, it also aims to inspire donors and advocates who are passionate about joining the fight against pediatric cancer. We are truly honored to have contributed to this meaningful cause. 🎗️

Detour was tasked with increasing the engagement and community involvement for a charity golf outing held for Annunciation BVM Catholic School. Oh and did we mention we were approached for help mid-campaign?!

We immediately knew we needed to brand this event. The clipart golf images originally plastered on the website and posters were not grabbing any attention, let alone making people want to participate and donate to a good cause.

So we designed an eye-catching golf badge for the event, that incorporated the cross, crest and royal blue from the school’s logo. Pairing these elements with a vibrant neon green and sky blue, really packed a punch, while still feeling true to the school.

We then took this new sweet badge and designed matching brand elements like signage, gift bags, golf towels and ball markers. Not to mention, our beloved custom golf trophies that were made out of multiple layers of colored acrylic and wood, laser cut and engraved, and then screwed together.

Our branding efforts created a buzz that attracted more participants and supporters, resulting in a remarkable increase in attendance and selling out within two weeks after the branding was released. Our innovative design solutions helped elevate the event’s visibility, leading to increased participation, donations and community support.

The Annunciation BVM Charity Golf Outing is proof that companies are not the only ones who need a strong visual identity and branding strategy. You can (and should!) leverage branding in order to see success, even in the event space! Contact us today and we’ll take your next event to new heights! 630-940-2417 | [email protected]

In case you aren’t subscribed to our newsletter, here’s a closer look into what went into the personal branding of Josh Doan. 🏒🥅

Josh already had a logo made for him by a friend, and while there was nothing wrong with the original logo, it did not feel like Josh. It felt a bit too soft and a little flat for someone of his caliber and skill level. That’s where we came in…

The new logo was designed to combine his first and last initials with his jersey number. We chiseled the corners of the logomark compared the original rounded letterforms, in order to make it feel more rugged and more fitting for a hockey player.

Once this new edgy and meaningful logo was established, we created a whole brand that evoked the same feeling. But we didn’t just shoot Josh an email with our ideas. We created a Detour brand book to really sell this new look and all the different ways we proposed Josh can SCORE BIG with his new personal brand.

Our brand book that was presented was decked out with all the Detour Details using our in-house machines. Laser + digital die cut covers, transparent pages, and removable bonus elements like stickers and a multi-layered trading card really pushed the presentation over the edge and showed Josh the type of potential his personal brand could have on his audience.

It doesn’t matter if we’re talking about a Fortune 500 company, or a young NHL player, it’s crucial to represent yourself in a way that is authentic to who you are and in a way that will allow you to stand out and SCORE BIG, regardless of your industry.

Are you representing your a brand in a way that’s as authentic as it is captivating? If not, let’s talk! 630-940-2417

Envelopes Only is a woman-owned envelope printing company that we had the pleasure of rebranding, and has been one of our favorites to date.

Our goal was to create an identity that reflects the company's values of creativity, quality and empowerment while appealing to a broader customer base.

We've infused vibrant colors and gradients to give a fresh and modern feel to every element of the brand. From interactive mailers, to captivating collateral and marketing materials, we wanted to focus on bringing the "wow" factor to this once typically drab field. The end results were bold, dynamic, and absolutely unforgettable!

Is your brand standing out from the crowd? Get in touch to give your brand the recognition it deserves! 630-940-2417
