Huge thanks to Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise for inviting us back to print LIVE at the 2026 Gratiot Cruise! We are always excited for local events like this where we can show up for our community, and print some sweet shirts in the process😎. Lindy: Grieving, Gracious, and Ready for a Second Chance 💛🐾
Meet Lindy — 5 years old and learning that love can happen twice.
Lindy's owner recently passed away and she is now looking for a new forever home. She had a person. She had a routine. She had a life that made sense. And then, overnight, everything changed. She didn’t do anything wrong. She just lost the only world she knew.
Lindy is friendly and sweet. Even through grief, her heart is open. She greets new people with a gentle tail wag and soft eyes that say “are you safe?” She leans in for pets. She sighs when you sit with her. She’s not angry. She’s not shut down. She’s just... waiting. Waiting for someone to tell her it’s going to be okay again.
We currently do not know how she would be with small kids, so meet and greets are a must. She’s calm and polite, but we want her next chapter to be her best chapter. The right fit matters more than a fast fit.
Lindy is hoping to find a new family who will show her love and compassion while she adjusts to new surroundings. New house. New smells. New people. New rules. It’s a lot for a 5-year-old heart. She doesn’t need a perfect home. She needs a patient one. One that understands that grief isn’t loud, but it’s real. One that lets her decompress, learn the new routine, and remember how to be a dog again.
She loves quiet walks. Cozy beds. A steady hand and a soft voice. She’s house-trained. She knows love. She just needs to be reminded that it still exists for her.
She’s not a puppy. She won’t chew your shoes. She won’t keep you up all night. She’ll just look at you like you hung the moon, because to her, you did. You’re the one who showed up when she needed it most.
Come visit with Lindy today at Oakland County Animal Shelter. She lost her person. Don’t make her lose hope, too.
