Many successful businesses don't rely on it alone.
Happy customers and referrals are incredibly valuable, but they're not always predictable. Some months you may get several referrals, while other months you may get very few.
That's why many businesses also invest in advertising - to consistently reach new people, stay top of mind, and continue growing.
Advertising doesn't replace word of mouth. It works alongside it.

One thing I've been learning lately is that business owners don't really care about "Facebook ads."
They care about getting more customers, more appointments, and growing their business.
It's changing the way I think about marketing and it's a good reminder that great marketing starts by understanding people's goals.

Amy's review reminded me of a conversation I have with business owners all the time.
Many tell me they've been advertising on Facebook, but when I take a look, they've actually been boosting posts.
There's nothing wrong with boosting a post, but it's very different from building a targeted ad campaign designed to generate leads.
Before I started learning Facebook ads myself, I didn't realize how big the difference was either.
