Peregrine - St Joseph

Shout out to Downtown Frame , I have had this numbered print of a Peregrine Falcon for about a year. A long time friend and colleague Larry Langlois gifted it to me. I came across it cleaning up my office a few weeks ago. Jason at Downtown Frames had an eye for the exact right color of frame it needed, I love it. Peregrine Corporation was named after the Peregrine Falcon, because the Peregrine Falcon was nearly driven to extension, but through persistent conservation In 1999, the Peregrine Falcon was removed from the U.S. Endangered Species List. We liken it to our industry; we were told for years that paper, the products we provide as well as a local sales person were going to be a thing of the past "extinct", but by providing excellent customer service I have been in the same business for 30+ years and in fact last year was my best year ever thanks to many local businesses choosing to work with a local business.

Tomorrow night from 5-7 I will be set up at Castle Bridge Event Center for the Chamber's Member Showcase. Our door prize is this super cute cookie jar with custom cookies with our logo on them made by Sweet Country Creations LLC. Come out and enjoy this event, I hear there will be 14 food vendors with free food samples. I won't have to cook tomorrow night.

These numbers explain a lot of price increases and delays. This impact more than promotional products.

I found this information very interesting:
Freight overall has gone up 27.7% Y-T-D That is the highest increase since 1990—which was also at 27.7% The forecast for the balance of the year is an impossible additional 8%. That would make the freight increase the highest experienced in a 12 month period since statistics on this economic indicator has been followed—ie….50 years.

Many supposed reasons for this---the most obvious is the shortage of 18 wheel drivers that is causing ports to overflow with goods that sit offshore. The log jam of ships not being able to offload creates a large expense throughout the system. All ports in the country are in the same shape. The Port of Long Beach that receives the largest % of Asian goods has over 1000 ships anchored offshore waiting their turn. The estimate of containers on hold in just this one port is 4,000,000.
