Hey Friends, I want to Thank You all for the birthday wishes. I would normally respond to all posts but, I spend less time on FB than in the past because it seems like just one long commercial with occasional posts from friends. Moreover, being in a warzone, has it’s hurdles. For example, we have not had any power for the last 24 hours: no heat, no electricity, no connectivity, no water, no elevator (a nice hike to the 15th floor). This is the land of generators, and I am poaching the wifi at my gym as we speak, where I am also using the shower. I am glad I have lots of experience roughing it in my tent in the wilderness. It teaches you to adapt. Besides the power issues I have never felt any danger here in Odesa. I am not a martyr and have no death wish, besides the occasional kaboom, it is rather safe here. I would leave if I thought I was in danger. We have midnight curfew and if you are male and caught out after midnight you just volunteered. Hence most of the deviants are not active and hiding. I work at a school teaching English lessons and volunteer with other groups on my days off. The little kids at school think I am a rock star and give me big hugs. If I only new the secret to getting woman my age to think the same way. Actually, my girlfriend Tanya who is reviewing this post doesn’t think I am funny. But she has Slavic girl humor: stone face.
I bought my new butane stove, so I can make tea using my head lamp.
