This presentation marked my last day of class at the University of St. Thomas. My group, Team Luke, got the opportunity to create a fully-integrated marketing plan for the Catholic church. This was difficult as the Catholic Church is such an old brand, yet we had to find a way to make it relevant to today's society.

This reminded me last year when I got to do the same thing for the Minneapolis NAACP. I am so thankful for these two opportunities; they have opened my eyes to the marketing/advertising world and I am ready to apply what I have learned to future projects.

At St. Thomas, strategic communication students become exposed to ad campaigns they otherwise would have never seen. Writing for Strategic Communications with professor Doug deGrood has been eye-opening; the required text, Communication Arts Advertising Annual 59, showcased a multitude of incredible ad campaigns. One of the campaigns that stood out most was June's: an HIV+ Eatery. This article is a brief analysis of the campaign. Enjoy!

Most ad campaigns avoid targeting stigma in order to prevent negative associations with a brand. But what if the campaign is fighting against a stigma? Usually when dealing with stigmas, one tip-toes around trigger words and attempts to tell clear-cut facts of the issue without causing an uproar.

These past few years I have had so much on my plate: working full-time as a dental assistant, being a full-time college student, volunteering at events, and having fun with friends. I will be graduating in December 2019, and I know I will be able to look back with many fond memories of my crazy life while in college. I look forward to what 2020 will bring!
