First and foremost, Happy 100th Year of Black History Month! Black History is American History and QTPOC History is Black History! At Blaque/OUT Magazine it is our distinct honor to celebrate the beauty, importance and impact of our Black Q***r and Trans predecessors every single day of the year. Remembering and honoring the shoulders upon which we stand while shining a light on all of you that are making history everyday with your presence, your gifts, your ingenuity and just the courage to show up in your authenticity every single day!

This month our cover celebrates Black Love as the Blaque/OUT lovebirds sit down with the podcast lovebirds from , our Best of 2025 Podcast of the Year winner. The Blaque/OUT team gives you a full run down of the sights and sounds of Creating Change 2026 in DC. We kick off our interview series with just a handful of the folks we met at the conference on Blaque/OUT Mag TV on YOUTUBE and we remember Cecilia Gentili on the very 1st NYC Cecilia Gentili Day in January. Happy New Year and we welcome you to the 5th Year of Blaque/OUT Magazine!

We are living in uncertain times but Blaque/OUT Magazine was built for this and our call of action for 2025 is just that. We were born out of the fire in 2020 so we were literally made for moments just like this and we WILL rise to the occasion. We will be the Black-Owned, Q***r-Owned, Woman-Owned Independent media that won’t be silenced at a point in history that we need to be LOUD. Through that fight- our greatest resistance is JOY. So this first issue of the year celebrates so many of the amazing Black & Brown, Q***r & Trans folks that have brought us light & made an impact in 2024. Nominated by YOU, our readers. Read about all of our 2024 BEST OF winners and look out for posts celebrating each one throughout the month of January.

This month we bring you one of our most exciting interviews yet. Blaque/OUT Magazine’s Javannah Davis sat down with Actor, Activist and our Blaque/OUT BEST OF 2024 Actor of the Year winner, Brian Michael Smith.
