The transaction would combine Sunivaโs domestic solar-cell manufacturing capabilities with SUNationโs residential and commercial solar, battery storage, and energy-services operations, creating a broader platform for American solar manufacturing and deployment.
The strategy follows Sunivaโs planned $350 million investment in a new 4.5 GW solar-cell manufacturing facility in Laurens County, South Carolina. Expected to begin operations in Q2 2027, the facility would help increase Sunivaโs total planned U.S. solar-cell capacity to more than 5.5 GW annually when combined with its existing Georgia operation.
The proposed merger remains subject to required approvals and is targeted for completion in the second half of 2026.
