Put on your “Drindl” or “Lederhosen”, grab your favorite Stein and join your fellow friends, family and neighbors as we scream “Prost” at the 5th Annual Silver Bluff Brewing Company “Oktoberfest” celebration! Saturday, October 19, 2024.🍻🍗🇩🇪

“Oktoberfest” is a traditional festival that began in 1810 in Munich, Germany. Today, it is celebrated in communities worldwide and Silver Bluff owner, Ally Moline, works diligently each year to provide the most authentic experience possible and this year will be no exception, making this a bucket list event to attend in our community!

Following tradition, you can purchase your annual commemorative Silver Bluff stein or glass when doors open at 12 pm, however, these are only available first come, first serve with a limited quantity so come early so you don’t miss out! (2024 options pictured*).

Once you secure/fill your Stein make your way to one of the indoor or outdoor bars to fill up with one of the 16 beers on tap! We also have frozen margaritas, house hard seltzer and more for non-beer drinkers.

Throughout the day, indulge in authentic German cuisine from one of the food trucks as you enjoy live German music from 1-5pm.

The German inspired games will begin at 5pm and will include a costume contest, Stein holding contest, yodeling contest and many more traditional games that are certain to entertain and allow you the chance to win amazing prizes and gift baskets!

At 6pm, the fun and fellowship continues as you settle in for more live music from the poular band “The Maple Street Band” and don’t forget to try the bratwurst or cabbage from local favorite food truck Schroeder's Market.

Silver Bluff Brewing Co., opened its doors in 2020 at 1325 Newcastle street in Brunswick and continues to be a local favorite! If you can’t make this weekends event, please come by at our normal hours:

As I spend the next few days wrapping up interviews, proofs and photo shoots so I can begin daily business postings, I felt led to share something I realized this past week, thanks to a wonderful local teacher at Glynn Academy, Mrs. Podlesney.

I’ll preface this by saying that watching my youngest child turn 16 recently brought on emotions of sadness that I was not anticipating. As I watched her excitement grow with every passing day, I felt my heart growing heavier and heavier. You see, all I could focus on were all of the lasts that this milestone birthday would bring. From the license to the freedom and independence she would gain, it was all too much for my heart. I knew that it was selfish of me to feel such a loss on the day my baby girl would be getting so much, however, I still couldn’t seem to shake the sadness.

While I wrestled with my thoughts for days on how to move past this mindset, I received the attached email that provided not only a proud mom moment, but also the boost that I needed to help change my perspective.

I cried as I read the words yet smiled at the realization that I am not losing, my role is transitioning and I now have a front-row seat to watch her navigate through life and do great things. So thank you Mrs. Podlesney, for your encouraging words and you will never know how impactful they were to me at just the right time.

This is just another example of the comfort our community of St. Simons Island and The Golden Isles provides. How lucky are we to live with others that look out for each other? We have teachers that choose to take the time to share positives that bring blessings to our lives unexpectedly, we have leaders who take the time to keep us informed during hurrincane season, it would literally take an entire day to list all of the ways that we see community supporting community every day!

I hope this will somehow help or inspire someone else who may be in need of a fresh perspective. Let us all remember that we should take the time to recognize good things that we see and take the 5 minutes to send the thank you email because we never know how our words could be used to help someone else the way that this email helped me. ❤️

My love for my hometown and desire to help local businesses through marketing has led me to create a one of a kind app, called Simon Says!! I am in the process of building the app, however, it won’t be ready until 2025. The goal of the app is to hopefully provide a unique resource and guide for all things relating to The Golden Isles! Since we are nearly a year from launch, I have decided to create and use this page so I can go ahead begin promoting local businesses.

Having been born and raised here, I have always known there is so much more than words can describe that make this community so uniquely magical and once you live or visit here you too can understand. And the same goes for the local businesses here. There is so much more to each of them and it is my goal to use this page to tell a deeper story to help you get to know not only more about the businesses themselves but about the amazing people behind them.

I will also be sharing one business post per day my group, “Saint Simons Live Update”, where there is already a local audience of over 8k members!

Daily posts will include: sharing business spotlights, local events, ways to give back to the community, photos from talented local photographers and so much more!
