Russ Sinsley for Perry Township Trustee
Salem, Ohio 44460
(330) 420-5786

After a great deal of thought and family consultation, I have decided to submit my name to the County Elections Board as a candidate for Perry Township Trustee. I have circulated petitions for this position and will be filing them well before the August 6 deadline. I have decided to run for this office because I care about the kind of community that my family and I want to reside in. We need to do more for the citizens of the township, changes need to be made. Rather than use money on lawsuits against the city of Salem, which Perry Township is apart of, we must find ways in which the township can work with the city to achieve common goals that would benefit us all. That's just common sense to me.

I currently live in the township with my wife and my daughter who is headed to college this fall. As a family focused man, I help my brother with our family towing business my father began more than twenty-five years ago. We are an "on call, 24 hour-a-day" type of business. It is the kind of business that has put me in touch with folks from all around the Salem and Perry Township community, giving me the opportunity to interact with the public daily. Through these interactions I have gained insight into the serious concerns that the area's residents and first responders have. Given my business knowledge and frequent contact with the public, I know I am well suited for the role of an effective trustee.

If elected as trustee, my pledge to the voters will not be anything complicated. My pledge
will be that I will listen and work for them. My job will be to make Perry Township stronger, more economically viable, and a place where both our kids and community have a safer, brighter future. This cannot happen without better cooperation and understanding between the township and the city. I wish to let these two entities co-exist to the benefit of both and for the people who reside here. With this pledge, watch what progress can be made for all of the citizens of Perry Township and the larger Salem community.

Billy Davidson Files for Perry Twp Trustee

“To Restore Confidence in Perry Twp”

“Today, I am formally announcing my candidacy for Perry Township Trustee. I have circulated petitions for this office and have filed them with the Columbiana County Board of Elections. I am looking forward to a spirited campaign during which I intend to reach out to voters throughout all of Perry Township with one simple message – “we can do better”.

“For too long there has been short-sighted bickering, needless public conflict, even law suits between Perry Township and the City of Salem, when these two entities ought to be working together for the betterment of all of the citizens of this community. If elected, one of my goals will be to have the township trustees work towards greater cooperation and unity with the city, the county and the state in order to bring about economic development and greater job opportunities and an improved quality of life for Perry Township”.

“I reside in Perry Township on the small family farm that my great grandfather first settled back in the 1960’s. I am a 2020 graduate of Salem High School, where I was twice elected class president, both, in my junior and senior years. Following high school, I enrolled at Kent State Salem where I earned a degree in Applied Business, with a major in Accounting Technology. I am currently employed as a staff accountant at the Church Budget Company in Salem”.

“There are currently millions of dollars in private investment just waiting to come to our township, if we will let it happen. This will create new opportunities for our citizens, an expanded tax base with which to support our first responders and maintain our streets, and otherwise pave the way to a brighter and more promising future for those of us that live and work here. On day one, I will be championing this kind of future for our township”

PERRY TOWNSHIP – Perry Township’s annual Spring Cleanup is set to begin April 1, giving township residents an opportunity to clear some clutter.
Pickup for the north side of the township will be the week of April 1, with pickup for the south the week of April 8, with State Street as the dividing line. Highland Creek and Pembrooke Drive will be picked up separately on April 10.
Only one pickup load will be taken per household, and items should be able to be lifted into the truck by one person. All hoses and cords must be tied. Tires are not being accepted again this year. Additionally no garbage, glass, propane, propane jugs, air conditioners, televisions, computers, paints, chemical, nor anything with freon will be accepted.
Residents typically take advantage of the township’s spring cleanup dates to get rid of unwanted furniture, junk tools, kids toys, and other small household items that are no longer wanted.
Residents are also reminded that leaves are only picked up in the fall and should not be put out at this time.
